NL5 moving to NL10? NL5 moving to NL10?

Hi. I was wondering when would be a good time to move to NL10 from NL5?

Last 13 sessions I'm winning at 7.6BB/100, and up $130. Played 33,700 hands.

I have way more than enough bankroll for NL10 because of bonus and I was lucky enough to finish 3rd in $3 tournament and took down $700.

generally i would suggest to move up if the following things are achieved:

- You bankroll has 25 BI for the upper Limit (+ (# of Tables you play)*BI)
- You're comfortable with moving up

You can try a few shots first and see wether you feel well on the new Limit or not. Furthermore I would not use winnings from other Plays than your current Ringgame Limit to increase your bankroll. To make it clear: Would you play NL1K if you won 35K$ in some MicroMillions Event? cashout the 700$ and use the NL5 profit for considering moving up or not.

So if you 10 Table your BR should be at least 350$ for example (100bb BIs, NL10). Good luck

I see. Thanks for the advice . My roll only $450 if minus the $700. I played 20 tables on NL5. I guess I need to reduce it to 10 tables if I want to take a shot at NL10.

Why don't you move up and try playing 12 tables of 10nl on a 10bi shot?

Then you can see if you're good enough for the level/ get used to the learning curve and increase in difficulty.

Then if you're profitable, you can move back to 20 tables

Keep most of your tourney winnings in don't cash out if you don't have to, roll protection is very important.

why do you suggest to keep the Tourney winnings? I think bankroll protection is given through a good BRM. with 8bb/100 the 25 BI is a very protected BRM, but if you want to be super safe go up to 35 BI, more BR-protection is not needed imo.

BTW you can check your optimal BRM by calculating it with you bb/100 value at http://www.bankrolltools.com/

Good Luck

I always use 500 buyins cause im a nit, but I hear the best way is to take amount of tables you play and times that number by 4.

25bi is too thin, you're at that level because your skill level is slightly better than the average imo.

With this general rule of thumb in mind, you can expect swings bigger than 25bi at times. My minimum rule is 50bi of the level you're coming from (your reg level) then 10bi at the level above as a "shot".

In this case it would be a $350 minimum I would suggest, feel free to be higher than that until you have results too.

The 5 cents games are full of nits ( real nits), that only play nutted hands, they are pretty bad off-course, but you canīt win a lot from them.

The 10 cents, you find people \ regs playing more hands and making tons of fundamental mistakes posflop with a little of wider ranges, and you see more fish \ whales. And you can attack more some weak ranges and so.

The 5 cents are playing like sets only and AA. The n10 you see a variety of people playing different.

Itīs easier to make a 3bet or 4bet with any2 OTB or in the blinds, but... if the hand goes to the flop? what to do?... If itīs AA its easier, like in nl5c.

And itīs easier to open more hands and so, but... it becomes harder to play, so they show more their weaknesses.

There are, off-course, better players, but they are few.
