i called pre because utg fold2 3bet is 72% and BB is aggro monkey squeezer

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $4(BB) Prima
SB ($96)
BB ($404)
UTG ($811)
UTG+1 ($411)
CO ($177)
Hero ($435)

Dealt to Hero A K

fold, UTG+1 raises to $12, fold, Hero calls $12, fold, fold

FLOP ($30) 2 8 K

UTG+1 bets $21, Hero calls $21

TURN ($72) 2 8 K Q

UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $46, UTG+1 calls $46

RIVER ($164) 2 8 K Q Q

[color=red]UTG+1 checks, Hero value ?

so i have two questions. do u raise flop for value and as played do u bet river for value ?

edit: his utg range is 18%

I think I'd prob bet. I mean, he will prob fold a lot of the time you are ahead but you can't expect him to have you beat that often. I mean, a flush draw missed!

so you bet only boats / bluffs??

Easy valuebet. Whether to call or fold to possible raise depends entirely on your reads. In a vacuum b/f.

this changes bf/bc dynamics. whats ur general plan if u get raised? (obv tough cos this isnt ur hand with ur reads)

as played id for sure value bet the river...however, i like raising on the flop. with your smooth call preflop, your hand strength is very much disguised so with a raise he might put you on some sort of fd...i think you end up getting the most value out of a flop raise, esp since you know he has a pretty strong range at this point.

agree and I probably bet/fold, but would bet around 50 with stronger hands too, at least sometimes, to induce more bluffs and value raises from Qx when I have 88/22/KQ/KK.
fwiw I also like flatting flop esp with Ad and betting a bit more on the turn.

bf but sometimes induce? idk seems like i need to improve my tell reading tekkers. just seems weird that with stronger hands u bet 50 to get them to bluff, but with ak u want to bf. like for balance wouldnt a 50$ bet on end be either air or nuts so ur never owning urself. idk just thoughts, i dont make these plays v often

Bet like 128-144$, wouldn't even have an overbet with the right dynamics. Valuebet the same way you bluff imo.

You must be playing pretty unbalanced towards value if you can't vbet this one.
