Zero reads/stats as I have just sat down and villain is complete unknown.....

Party Poker $25.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero (UTG): $25.75
MP: $29.90
CO: $46.25
BTN: $34.00
SB: $38.70
BB: $28.00

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is UTG with K Q
Hero raises to $1, 2 folds, BTN calls $1, 2 folds

Flop: ($2.35) 6 Q 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.50, BTN raises to $4.50, Hero ???

I know it seems 'standard' but I actually feel like this is a tough spot. If i 3bet flop and he folds, I obv had best hand anyways...If i 3bet flop and get it in, Im most likely flipping vs big combo draw best case scenario...If i just call, Ill be playing a big guessing game for rest of hand. I just think any way of proceeding kinda sucks but I cant win if I click fold so that sucks too. Even goofy lines like click it back or call/ lead turn dont seem great b/c he is prob just gonna shove over either one of those like alyways w/ whatever he can have.

How would you continue here vs unknown?.... vs someone aggro?

Also how would your answer change 200bb deep?

IMO it's a fold, you could already be crushed against AQ or a set, and you're about 50% against TJdd. If you lead the turn you're likely to face a shove here and since you have no history, i'd wait for a better opportunity.

Easy fold, don't build a big pot oop w/that modest of a holding, particularly w/o any history.

Call me a nit, but this is why I never would raise KQo from UTG in my 1st orbit at a table.

Not gonna comment on the hand itself, but here's a little something that should help you out.

"If i 3bet flop and get it in, Im most likely flipping vs big combo draw best case scenario...If i just call, Ill be playing a big guessing game for rest of hand."

If this is the case, then why are you betting in the first place? You need a plan.

Lets change the situation slightly- we are IP and are check raised. Then I think its an easy fold. But, in the current situation I do not think it is an easy fold necessarily:

He could easily have seen you sit down and start raising straight away, and decide to try and take a pot from you IP when you cbet. Or maybe he does actually have a weaker queen and hopes you have TT or something.

On the other hand, he could of course have you beaten: i think the most likely ways he has you beaten are with 66 and with Q9. I think he would probably (although obv we do not know) have reraised PF with AQ or 99.

Then there is of course the possibility he has a draw of some sort, and thinks he can win the pot right here.

Ultimately, I think this is a very tough spot. These are the things I am thinking of right now, but in the heat of the moment I do not really know what I would do. I dont think this is necessarily a bad thing as it is such a close spot- his range is fairly wide and there are a few things you beat, a few things that beat you, and a few things you are flipping against. Its an interesting hand, and I would be interested to hear what a better player would do here. At the end of the day, I would probably reraise and fold to a shove.
