Poker Stars $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

UTG: $29.40
MP: $15.90
CO: $26.30
BTN: $16.10
Hero (SB): $50.50
BB: $28.10

Pre Flop: Hero is SB with Q K
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.50, Hero calls $0.40, 1 fold

Flop: ($1.25) 3 7 K (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

Turn: ($2.25) 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $5

Villain is 44/3/2.9 after about 90 hands. I've been floating at this table a lot and folding to second barrells often. Call preflop should be fine, so should flop. Check-raising there seems a bit spewy, even after seeing his weak flop bet. The turn bet though has me completely confused.

Preflop against this dude is call or fold. 3betting with KQ against someone who raises 3% of his hand probably doesn't have much value.

Villain rarely raises PF, so the call preflop call is not a good idea. If they were suited we would have a better chance of flopping some good draws and a call would be in order. As played, why are you checking the turn? If you check hoping that he will check it through, you need to accept that you can not be passive for the sake of pot control when OOP. If you were checking to give up, then fold. If you were checking to induce a bluff, you got it and need to call.

Meh, good points. I don't figure that this villain would bet the turn without the K or better, so I didn't check for a bluff but for information. My plan was to call a reasonable size bet and possibly lead the river. When that bet came out though, I felt that I was probably up against a decent hand that was afraid of the club draw.

i dont really see why you check called on the flop to be honest...you say you were checking for information but you get alot more information by leading out don't you?

now youve got yourself in a postion where you have no idea what he has and facing a pretty massive over bet...

The check on the flop is OK to pick up a c-bet. But Hero really needs to follow up by leading the turn.

KQo out of position is one of the hands that I'm trying to work on. Just a few questions. If we get raised, fold obv. If we get called, do we b/f on a river blank and c/c a river A/club?

If we get called on the turn, block the turn for 1/2.
