PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

CO ($19.05)
Button ($33.05)
SB ($18.20)
Hero ($24.10)
UTG ($27.60)
UTG+1 ($26.35)
MP1 ($41.85)
MP2 ($9.45)
MP3 ($21)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, Q.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, 3 folds, CO calls $0.25, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($1) 8, T, 9 (4 players)
SB bets $0.5, Hero raises to $2, UTG+1 calls $2, CO folds, SB folds.

Turn: ($5.50) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $3.5, UTG+1 calls $3.50.

River: ($12.50) 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $8

Is it ok to valuebet here? Flush seems unlikely due to it being backdoor, a lone Jack seems quite likely. Maybe I should just shove and hope for a Jack call.

UTG+1 raises to $20.6, (Hero calls $10.35 (All-In)???)

****, hands never seem to hold up. This looks a lot like a boat, but could it still be a QJ or Jx enough to call getting 4-1? If I put Villain's range as exactly TT-88 (maybe 77?) and QJ, I do, but it seems QJo might play this hand differently.

I think c/c is a better line on the river. If any other card fell that didn't pair the board I would value bet but just the way the hand played out it really looks like he had a scared 2 pair or maybe a set on the flop then boated on the river. I think he raises the turn with a lone jack fwiw.

But given that I already bet, I call the shove?

+5,

your hand is far more valuable in inducing bluffs than valuebetting at this point.
