First of all I know I should be betting the flop I have no idea why I checked...

But as played is this a clear fold on the river? My initial thought was that was fairly certain he had QQ but somehow managed to talk myself into a call because I've only just stepped up to 25NL so still geting to know how they play.

3-bet to at least $2.5

def bet flop

I don't know what to say about the turn and river given flop and preflop, but unless you know this guy is spewy, you're beat.

Just curious what your thought process is on checking the flop.

You have the draw to nut flush, and a bet probably takes this hand down. Avoiding the difficult spot that comes later in the hand.

Also, might be different for others. But in my experience when they time check on the river, making it look like they are unsure/bluffing, they have the nuts.

I fold the river, and just move on to next hand. Watch how he plays hands, get good notes, and stack him later when your read is better.

Way more pre obviously. Minraises are asking for the call and play the 2 pair or better game which puts you in a huge RIO situation before you even see the flop.

So you basically have 2 ranges to play against:

The range you are crushing: Kx and any other that wants to continue, 1 pair hands.

The range that is ahead of you: sets, made flushes.

Just bet 1/2 pot for value and pot control flop and turn.
Encourage the range you are crushing to continue. That range can't stand much heat.
Don't isolate yourself against the range that you're drawing to an obvious hand against.

I absolutely love it when a full stack mini-3bets me PF when I raise with a pocket pair. I am almost guaranteed to stack them if I hit my set, and they give me such a good price to stay in the hand.

It wasn't a min raise but yes I should have raised more. I'm just moved up to NL25 and it takes a while to adjust to the new standard raise/3 bet amounts, particularly when mass tabling.
