I thought he would 3bet AQ, AK, 99+, planned to fold to a shove. When he called i thought he had QQ AQ AK. Maybe i should have called the 3b but i didn't want to go to the flop OOP against his 3b range with this much behind.

No info on villain, i could have made a meta game decision - call the 3b and fold the flop if he shows aggression but i saw a lot of people willing to shove AK in position even if they miss.

The range you assigned before the Flop looks reasonable, ppl usually get KK and AA in pre. But when he shoves OTF you can rule out AK/AQ I think. You 4b from UTG so you are basically repping QQ+ and AK - if he thinks this way at all, after all its still 2NL.

I would cbet a bit smaller which makes folding to a shove easier.

4b'ing in these positions is asking for trouble. 4b/folding is turning our hand into a bluff needlessly, it's a spot to either call if he's an aggro 3better or can just make an exploitable fold in these positions till we know more about villain... w/e.

I thought my mistake was pre flop, but you make a valid point, after all i only put in 1/4 of my stack no need to lose it all.

Is CBet 50 / fold to shove ok? What if he calls the 50? (he's not spazzy or over agg IMO so it's a plausible scenario)

The way i see it now is CBet 50 as a bluff and give up (couldn't be called by worse, right?)

BTW, i might be over thinking a bit for 2NL but if we have a range of JJ+, AK, for making this play, his range of QQ+, AK can shove with 50% equity. If he has any FE he can shove his entire range profitably.

yea if u dont want to play OOP against his 3bet range (I assume because his range is too strong), its very simple -- fold.

No not really, you can't just say that a general statement... it depends on lots of things such as who is 3b'ing you and positions etc. Like if you are on the button and a guy 3b'ing you on BB with a 3b% of 100% ofcourse folding would be terrible, but if a mega nit 3b's your UTG open continuing would be terrible. So it's totally scenario dependent.

I forgot to mention 'in spots like this', i know most plays are very situational.
