Hi,
I am continually wondering whether I should raise or not in some situations and I'd be happy to have your view.
Standard situation : I play NL2, CO-1, normal buy-in, standard table, beginners, mostly passive, 2 limpers before me.
1) QJo : would you raise ? limp ? what about QJs ? I would raise QJs since I wanna have an idea of the kind of hands my opponents may be playing
2) KQo : I would raise
3) KJo : do you limp this kind of hand ? raise ? which factors do you consider ?

I used to find a webpage with interesting insights about the Sklansky hand groups and how to play them based on your position and how agressive the table is.. I'd be happy if you have a page to recommend me.
Thank you.

Fold everything but KQ. At nl2, you can't get people to fold and you're behind by someone. If it is mostly beginners, one of the two of them will have an Ace. In playing connectors, play lower ones if you want to speculate. They're easy to drop if you miss and you'll felt anyone with top pair when you hit.

If you want to read something, there is nothing better at the moment than "Harrington on Cash Games". Make sure you read the section on weak games because that's what you're playing now. I haven't seen it at a book store yet, but you can order from this site.

KQ definitely raise. You can raise QJ too if you can get away from it post flop if you have top pair and are facing aggression. If your opponents are weak and give up a lot when they dont hit hard I would raise all of these hands and take away a lot of smallish pots with a 1/2 or 3/4 pot size c-bet, but give up immediately if they donk bet into you or raise you (unless you hit the flop hard obviously.) There players also will give you a lot of free cards to catch up so theyll let you see the river for free after a flop bet to catch up as well, but i wouldnt double barrel too much at this level unless its a really obvious spot to.

On the other hand if they are passive stations and call you down with middle pairs and overcards often, i would tighten up a lot and raise only for value with premium hands that i want to play for large pots. Youll know what type of a table it is after a few orbits of observing what people are showing down, and adjust accordingly.

QJ and QJs i would either raise or fold. Limping is going to cost you money. I may overlimp rarely with qjs just to play them in a multiway pot in position but at that point your playing for straight and flush value mostly.

KJ: Unless your really comfortable post flop I would dump it most of the time, its just not that profitable of a hand and it can be tricky to play in a lot of situations, like J high and K high boards.
