NL100: Herocall against a reg? NL100: Herocall against a reg?

Villain is a regular and 2+2er. He had played somewhat straightforward (no big bluffs, at least caught) this far, but I had recently called down flop c/r and turnbet light twice(88 on Thigh and midpair iirc) and he had given up after thinking for a while on the river. Do you think this makes him more or less likely to pull the trigger this time?

I hadn't made any big 3 street herocalls earlier in this match.

(i know turn call is bad, I suck)

($161)
Hero ($138)

Dealt to Hero 7 T

Hero raises to $3, calls $2

FLOP ($6) 4 2 5

checks, Hero bets $4.50, raises to $13.50, Hero calls $9

TURN ($33) 4 2 5 J

bets $27, Hero calls $27

RIVER ($87) 4 2 5 J 7

[color=red]bets $118 (AI), hero has a pear, kawl?

this is like the regs version of a donk bluffing a busted draw

hmm, my respose is gone.

anyways i said fold turn ldo, and river is prob a fold but calling isn't bad either as all draws missed.

cant really see what kind of hand villain has that beats you except for 54/55/44/22/A3. i call gg nh
also when flatting turn your hand is really faceup to a flushdraw, just fold.

turn call is yikes

really doubt he runs a big bluff here if you've already called him light twice, not to mention he'll be valuebetting thinner than readless

As I said in the OP, I know turn call is really awful. I had been running bad earlier and was a bit frustrated... I know it's not really an excuse, but mehhh my emotional control sucks.

What could he really valuebet thin here? I don't really see how he could ever be shoving worse than 45 for value.

But idk, river call was probably bad too.

well i think given that you have two diamonds in your hand AND a backdoor draw got there, it's really unlikely that he barrels the turn so wide that he has a sufficient amount of bluffs on this river to even jam with, and that's all hinging on if your assumption about him being more likely to jam missed draws here is correct. there's a million things working against you here imo

also as far as thin i was thinking JdXd or just AJ or smth that decided to bluff the flop

+1

theres no difference between 54 or Jdxd really so no reason why he wouldnt vb those.

Also really bad board to c/r bluff unless you plan to 3barrel.
Its a board that gets donked or check/called way more often but check/raised for value by 77+ and all sets, 2 pair, straights a lot of the time by regs.

what about 3betting the flop?

If we 3bet flop what do we do when he pushes?. Folding sucks and we're never in great shape getting it in 140bb deep

this is just one of these spots where I expect to see a jack every time

he could bluff a decent amount of times on that spot especially if he has diamonds but given that u dont know ur opponent well its better to fold.

If he was bluffing the flop, he picked up a jack on the turn. If he was bluffing the turn, he picked up more outs to a semi bluff. If he's bluffing the river, he's semi-******ed.
