NL10 When competant fishy player, minraises you twice, does he ever not have a monster? NL10 When competant fishy player, minraises you twice, does he ever not have a monster?

Lets start with the disclaimer: I am never ever folding this (well might start to worry if we were 400bb deep, maybe.)

So lets assume i did not have a cooler monster. Villain checks the flop (rare for him) and starts playing back to you when you bet with minraises. Does he ever not have a monster (and again on this flop i beat most monsters).

Villain is 83/19, and not overly aggressive.

BB: $10.55
Hero (CO): $11.35
BTN: $6.80
SB: $10.00

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is CO with 8 8
Hero raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.30, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.75) T 9 T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($0.75) 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.30, BTN raises to $0.60, Hero raises to $1.50, BTN raises to $2.40,

Hero raises to $6.10, BTN raises to $6.50 all in, Hero calls $0.40

note i did not bet flop, because this totally hits his range, he will likely call and turn likely puts me in a bad spot. again not concern about this hand as much as the action from villain.

How can you say this totally hits his range?

He's playing more than 8 of 10 hands - his range is ATC, making it impossible to say that Flop XYZ hits "his range" anymore than Flop "123".

Now the board in this particular hand would bring lots of different aggression from any player as it could be naked Tens, or the str8 draws that got there, or the redraw to a second flush.

Does he ever not have a monster here - I think lots of times he will not have a monster here.

Sarge. exactly since he is ATC this hits his range. . my plan on flop was to c/c and reassess on turn, since i doubt he folds on this flop, except if he has 53, and that will not change with turn. and i don't think i want a big pot on this (pre monster turn )

when he started playing to to him, i had him with AT, QJ,J7 though looking back he would have bet those on the flop.

however i never expect him to be worse then trips here. so if i had overpair i would likely slow down. is reasoning wrong?

By this logic, every single flop hits his range.
And that's why you want to charge his draws.

Then your plan on future hands is to assume that every flop is hitting his range?

He has a T or a straight every single time imo (because of the minraises obv)

You have a hand that really requieres not much thought process vs given villain, i dont really know what do u need advice for, since he can show up with tons of stupid stuff.

Would you post the hand for advice if villain shows with T4?

Just get all the $$ in the middle.

When compentent fishy player
wat?

anyway, this hand plays itself. trips or a straight could be considered a 'monster'

actually i think this is the first cooler i have ever posted.

this was a question on villain's actions, not on my hand, so i can adjust when i don't have a monster and see the behaviour.

i would say that most of the time they have it, also maybe you shouldn't have posted the hand cuz we all think that you main doubt is about folding 88 a beautifull board. =)
