just call flop because not many worse hands call other than AT and you can get value later from JJ-KK

once you raised I fold after he 3bets, he doesnt do this with JJ-KK and the times he has FD< times he has AQ,AK, sets

Yeah, i agree. Raising forces him to play virtually perfectly since he folds worse and plays back with better. I'd just call flop, too.

Raising the flop just pushes out the hands you beat, and bets money in faster against the ones that beat you.

Calling his bets here is better and betting if checked too.

Folding pre is good too to be honest as hes unknown and UTG, so your going to suffer alot of problems with reverse domination aswell as missing the flop alot (as hes UTG, his range will be mostly strong hands, so you will have trouble stealing the pot when you miss etc, so you will be playing very fit or fold, losing alot to his bigger aces and winning small pots when you flop an ace but he misses).

I don't see how people are saying you should call his 3bet on the flop. As played you have to fold that. You've invested $1.80 into the pot, now he's asking for $3. I see you being good here very seldom, and he's most likely not slowing down when you flat him.

In my opinion you have to fold after his re-raise. As others have said, calling his bets and betting if checked to.

It's already been stated but yeah, you have to think, your re-raise doesn't get value from pretty much anything except probably AT, there are no flush draws or plausable straight draws to get value from. It's pretty much spew or a value killer. If he has Ax and x is worse than your J, you can call his bets to the river and vbet him when he slows down to get value. However, with the line you took, he is folding his Ax where x is worse than your J pretty much everytime you re-raise. (perhaps not AT, but i don't think he's shoving with it).

don't think anybody was advocating flatting his 3-bet...just flatting his initial bet for the reasons you mention later in your post

If I just call the flop cbet what is the plan for the turn? (assuming it blanks)

assuming he fires a pot-sized barrell is the plan to flat call to the river or re-raise there?

Because even though villian is unknown I highly suspect the weaker part of his range that I beat would then go on to shove river and I can't call?

For the record I folded to the 3bet
