SB in this hand is a crazy maniac, 77/41/1.86..hasn't been showing many hands down as not many people are standing up to them.

The hand started with a light cbet against a 29/17 UTG Villain. With position, I think this is a good play, but with the maniac in the hand, I'm unsure.

Poker Stars $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

Hero (MP): $11.50
CO: $10.00
BTN: $9.75
SB: $19.25
BB: $2.95
UTG: $23.20

Pre Flop: Hero is MP with 9 T
UTG raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $1.50, 2 folds, SB calls $1.45, 2 folds

Flop: ($3.60) K J 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.25, SB raises to $7.70

After this raise, I puked. I should've checked it, but right now I have a straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. This spot is a standard fold I take it, but should I have played this hand differently?

It's actually getting really close to a call.
I don't like the 3bet preflop, especially not with a maniac behind. But even without him it's not the greatest idea to semi-bluff an UTG raiser. Wait til you can try this when he's CO and you're Button or something and his range is widest.
On the flop, I know it seems results oriented, but against a maniac calling a 3bet preflop, his range probably hits this board pretty hard very often, so seeing the turn for free is not a bad idea, especially since he'll likely pay you off when you hit anyway.

just smoothcall pre invite a multiwaypot and then play said multiwaypot against the maniac(with position on said maniac) and profit.

as played just shove, you got the like 36% equity and your getting the odds.
