NL10 - QQ over pair facing flop raise NL10 - QQ over pair facing flop raise

Villain 14/10 over just 100 hands.

After reviewing this hand, I'm not sure if perhaps I overplayed my TP too much. At the time I obviously wasn't concentrating as his line looks like KK/AA to me now.

At the time I put him on a blind steal, especially after he checked the flop.

What do you think?

Any reads on his post-flop style? I think it's pretty tough to make a good decision here based only on the info you posted with the hand. 140bb deep, if he's tight and straightforward post-flop than this may be a fold, but if he's aggro and can turn AK or TT into a bluff than getting it in is obviously correct. 14/10 allows you to narrow down his range probably to pocket pairs, AK and maybe occasionally some other big suited aces, but it's hard to know how to further reduce his range after the flop check-raise without more info.

I think I have to call the reraise and trying to keep the pot small on the turn... It would be nice if we knew villain to semibluff or stack off with TP (Jx) here - otherwise we might be SOL - villain is too tight for me to really love getting it all in here.

Calling the raise leaves 1/2 psb left on the turn, so I don't think calling "to keep the pot small" makes a lot of sense here

Standard as standard gets. FD and a broadway on the flop, at stakes where villains think TP is the nuts

Have you played 10nl lately? I don't think this is standard 140bb deep against all villains at these stakes, although against the majority of them I'm getting it in. At 100bb I think this is much more obvious.

I guess in general I think analysis of the form "against the average unknown villain at stakes X just get it in" is not particularly helpful to progressing in poker understanding, even if the advice is true, practically speaking. 14/10 is already not really the average villain at 10nl in any case.

villain check raises you almost min on the flop.. this screams out strength to me.. looks like a PP.. either a set or big pair slow played pre flop.. ignore 80sSynth advice is all wrong unless we are deepstacked..

I think you're right well named!

I don't see this villian play AJ, KJ, TJ, QJ playing like this.

I think we can narrow his range to AKd, JJ, 44, 66, AA

I was generalizing the villain saying that against your average villain he will show up with TP here a lot. That just my opinion. I wasnt saying these are below me or anything but even the 14/10's here will show up with TP a lot IMO

My line of thinking was in the right place at least - villain is a little too tight for me to shove & love. 14/10 is def. not your average 10NL villain.

I think this is pretty standard at NL10.
