Still trying to improve in 3bet situations.

SB: 100 BB - 26/19, 11% 3bet, cb flop 60%, over a significant sample
BB: 137.9 BB
CO: 57.9 BB
Hero (BTN): 107.3 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8 9

fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, SB raises to 10 BB, fold, Hero calls 7.5 BB

Flop: (21 BB, 2 players) 6 2 7
SB bets 9.8 BB, Hero calls 9.8 BB

Turn: (40.6 BB, 2 players) A
SB checks, Hero bets 22 BB

Preflop : somebody once explained to me in another thread 98s is a bad hand to call because it is dominated by AK on a QJT board. On the other hand, I see GTOw makes the call sometimes, so I guess it's not a terrible mistake.

Flop : good flop for the defender, but they still go ahead and cbet 1/2 pot. I hesitated to raise but thought if they ship I have to surrender a lot of equity. I also thought maybe I can bluff diamonds

Turn : Diamond it is, and the fact it's an A reduces slightly the amount of flushes they can have. On the other hand, A is still a good card for them. I'm not sure my bluff is very good here, they can easily be check/calling with AKd, AQd, AJd etc etc
My intention was to bet/fold turn, shove a brick river or a non diamond 5 or T.

Turn bet seems unnecessarily large + you probably don't want bet with this hand at 100% frequency, but sometimes to have bluffs on diamond rivers sure

I see no problem calling 98s in position against wide SB 3bet range. A preflop Call is okay.

There are few nuts on this flop in our range so I wouldn't overextend your bluff raise range.
Exception if Villain has high Cbet OOP and high Cbet/Fold. The call is okay.

I like your plan on the turn and river, opponents on the micro defend their checks very badly and we should use it.

I think PF call in this positions is fine and we should call 100% with 98s, probably the spot in the other thread was different like BTNvsCO 3bet pot we should fold sometimes 98s cauze BTN 3bet range has a lot of 9-x that dominates our hand and also we are OOP.

I think if the board is rainbow and we have a BDFD we can XR more often but on this board I would proceed to just call. OTT I would play pretty agressive attacking his pocket pairs and weak X range cauze I dont expect a lot flushes in his range at these level. I would bet 50psb and JAM OTR. However, I like to XB low frq to realize our equity by hitting a straight or even a pair, and we can also bluff OTR but I dont expect a lot of folds on this line and also BB could bluff you OTR.

Pf and flop are more lr less standard.

Turn I like smaller bet or check. I don't SB will have much of problem defending vs 1/2, calls pretty much all Ax and PP with FD.
