-You can certainly make the argument to 4bet pre. It may even be the better line on a fish filled site like Bovada. However, I prefer to not GII preflop and play in position postflop.
-Not sure about my flop sizing.
-This turn seems really strange. Would you come back over the top?

If we don't 4bet this then I guess we don't have a 4bet range? I'd 4bet vs that silly sizing.

I think it's a mistake to size up on that turn with this hand and maybe with our range, especially given that villain is uncapped. I'm probably checking back this hand.

Yeah, 4-bet all day. It's going to be more +EV, especially with villain being a fish.

Turn card sucks. He may have just boated up, hit trips, or have a KdT/QdT type hand. We aren't getting 3 streets of value most likely, so now is a good time to check.

Okay, 4bet pre and as played check back turn. This is what happened on the river.

River: (65.7 BB, 2 players) 6
BB bets 50 BB, fold

As others have said, I would have 4bet pre and checked back turn. River is an easy fold. On the flop, I would bet larger myself; betting a suited flop like that, you need to go bigger than 30%.

Although this example may not be the best, there are benefits to under betting suited flops. I'm protecting myself vs. check raises. If the turn comes a blank, I can then fire a large sized bet (3/4psb) to charge any draws he may have.

I am not sure if this is true or not but it made sense to me. With solvers such as PIO now, I have heard a trend players have noticed is waiting for favorable run outs instead of betting aggressively early and having to make difficult decisions in bloated pots with marginal holdings on later streets.

How is a small bet protecting you against c/r? Surely if that's what you want to do it's best to just check back the flop and value bet or bluff catch blank later streets.

I could be off base here and I have a lot that I can improve on. I also play a lot of HU and short handed as I like to start tables, which may alter how I view some things.

The above example may not be adequate with what I'm attempting to communicate. My rationale is; under betting protects us in the event we do get check raised. It controls the size of the pot, so if a reasonable turn card comes and villain fires again, I will feel more comfortable calling another street. By the river, most villains at micro stakes will have trouble firing again on a bluff and will check any hands with showdown value.

This may be tailored more to spots where I have top pair that are not aces on mono-toned/two-toned boards and I want my cbet to be successful so he doesn't make a better pair.
