Hero (CO): 118.8 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q A

fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, BB raises to 12 BB, Hero calls 9 BB

Flop: (24.5 BB, 2 players) 3 8 2
BB bets 12 BB, Hero calls 12 BB

Turn: (48.5 BB, 2 players) 5
BB checks, Hero bets 17 BB, BB calls 17 BB

River: (82.5 BB, 2 players) T
BB checks, Hero bets 77.8 BB and is all-in

I`m not sure about this Hand. Preflop I don`t want to 4bet against this rather tight villian.

OTF he bets half Pot folding seems to tight, should I fold here and just call if I have the A?

OTT he checks which made me think he has never a Flush here. His range is still pretty wide with alls kinds of middle to high PP and AX with a single .

OTR I have just the right amount to shove left. He should fold now all his AK, and middle pairs with a . Since I think his Range is capped to no Flushes he has very few Hands to call with here.

Preflop is close I think, AQo is a nice hand to use as a bluff against a tight range due to blockers and is not going to be easy to play postflop against a decent strong range. That being said you only have 84 hands on v and he might actually 3b alot aswell in these positions.

As played I would just give up on the F without any backdoor. Even if we hit TP we are not going to feel great about it if he is a nit. T stab is too wide IMO. As played R I dont think you are folding out many better hands at this point. All pairs with a spade are calling, he shouldnt have middling pairs and at the micros people will snap you with JJ+ no spade all day. The only realistic better hands you fold out are AK but those might already fold T or barrel if they have a spade.

Would much prefer having one spade when doing this.

BB will still have a bunch of overpairs, doubt he will fold any including a spade on the river. His calling range will not be restricted to flushes only in this spot.

This is a spot where 3bettor doesn't find too many folds after calling turn. I also imagine he barrels turn with his AK one spade combos somewhat often(villain dependent).

I guess it's hard for you be bluffing on the river, just don't think villain will care too much with any overpair. This would be much better against a villain who has a few light 3bets in their range.

I thougt of this also. But than agian it`s perhaps better if I don`t have the A bacuse he has some Hands with the single A in his Range which he could fold on the river.

Looking back at this I think the river was the only street I didn`t screw up. He used all his Timebank and than called with 88 what is the best hand he could have here besides flushes.

I see what your saying, I just think in terms of your strategy it makes more sense to use blockers. Also AK one spade is a very small portion of villain's overall range, we want to try and force folds when villain is going to have more air that 2specific combos generally that he may/may not barrel turn with.

Ahh, in a sense calling with 88 is more of decision than calling with AA as AA blocks your value range and reduces the combos of flushes you can have. But he is unlikely to fold any of this range.

One thing to consider is that you will have more flush than villain in this spot so he will be doing a fair amount of checking on the turn, this does not mean he will be doing a lot of folding on the river however. I would be careful in the assumption that he folds his non-flush hands on the river. You are going to get called by overpairs pretty often in this spot. Do not think villain is going to be overfolding here. Especially if he is tight, he will be more weighted towards calling hands than folds.

I play most of my volume at 9-max tables, so sorry if I sound like a nit . I prefer to defend pps and suited aces or KQs than AQo CO vs BB 4x 3bet. Maybe a 4bet is better than just calling.

Without the bdfd I think you should fold flop. And without the A of spades, I think river was spew. Beware of attacking turn checks after an oop flop cbet by a tight player, as cbets oop are usually value or strong draws and they will be defending most of their pot controlling range.

I actually don't mind it until the river, though I would probably go larger on the turn.

Villain's stats indicate a nitty aggressive player, who is likely 3betting a pretty strong range. So it's going to be difficult to blow him off the pot on low cards. You try to rep the flush on the turn but when he calls that should indicate he's not backing down easily and has a lot of overpairs/sets in his range. Therefore I give up on the river.
