Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero (UTG): $50.00
UTG+1: $52.40
UTG+2: $55.15
MP1: $51.85
MP2: $44.90
CO: $44.25
BTN: $34.60
SB: $88.35
BB: $33.50

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is UTG with Q Q
Hero raises to $1.50, 5 folds, BTN calls $1.50, SB raises to $6.50, 1 fold, Hero??

Button is a fish running at 50/13/3.
Villain is running at 21/16/4 with a 3!% of 5%/ and 20% squeeze (only 5 sample hands for this stat)

This is probably a standard spot and i seem to get in a lot but not sure what to do here. A fold seems to weak especially since he could be squeezing. However if i just call what do i do on a low flop?
Would you do that same thing here as you would with 99-JJ?
Any advice is appreciated

I fold here - if we have the best hand we win a very small pot, if we don't we lose stacks - and it is debatable if he is a squeezer seeing as you raised UTG.

Would you do the same with KK?

No KK>>>QQ because it means he could have QQ and AK which is much better for us.

He is squeezing your UTG raise, so, if he is positionally aware, he is showing strength there.

On the other hand, he seems (I know, small sample) kind of squeeze happy, and since he is OOP he probably will do this with hands like AK and AQ a lot, since those hands are hard to play from the SB in a multiway pot.

We can call and play a pot in position here, and thats not bad at all imo, but we are inviting fish to come along with his AT, 55 or w.e. and getting outdrawn or not knowing where we stand against 2 players is way worst than against 1 (and if fish comes along we wont have position on him).

With no history I'm probably folding and making a note on his squeezing tendencies planning on 4-betting him more if he keeps pwning (and getting it in lighter, ldo).

But, tbh, I'm almost neutral between folding and 4-bet calling against this specific player. 4-bet calling, actually would be based on MY image on this specific table and how light did people there see me go to the felt preflop, how agressive have I been, etc.

Thats a very interesting spot, imo. the safe play here is to fold, ldo. Calling invites the fish, so I don't like it. 4-betting is high variance but fun and creates some image that we can take advantage in hands to come.

folding>>4-betting>>caling

as long as pairs smaller than QQ go, it is a standard fold for me unless I'm playing a maniac or a total fish (or a reg with whom I have tons of history).

I chose to call and c/f a KKJ flop. Clearly i have a lot to learn before i can beat 50nl.

Thanks for the advice. A lot of interesting points which i never thought about

Personally, I would call the 3-bet and see a flop. We've got a big pair and we get to play it in position against the 3-bettor. Not happy if the fish comes along, which he will probably do, but I don't really want to 4-bet either unless it's a villain I know will stack worse than QQ.

If the flop comes lowball, I am pretty much going to peel a cbet. Kind of wish we had the fish between us, but can't get everything!
