Hey all, just getting into NL, and I'm having a hard time with these deep stacked games. Any thoughts on what happens here? What's my move on the river? I don't have any real reads on the villain, only played ~25 hands with him.

I guess the raise could be a little sketchy with QTo, but it seems okay 6handed (I could be wrong). Even if you think that QTo is garbage 6 handed UTG, please let me know what you'd do different for the rest of the play (because I'd have the exact same situation if I were on the button).

Thanks all!

EDIT: at the time, my reads are a possible J9 or weaker 2 pair, with the possibility that we have the same hand and he's trying to buy it. I don't suspect a set, but I suppose it's possible he was slow playing it until the river. These are just guesses though--I don't have enough hands to build a real range.

... Then don't play them? If you're buying in deep, obviously you have the option not to. If you got deep by winning, then congrats on winning; take a break and reset to 100BB.

Someone is bound to berate you for not paying more attention during those hands. Did you at least count how many times he limped vs. raised preflop?

Wrong by a lot TBH. OK on the button, maybe CO depending on the table.

You might try a c-bet on the flop. I wouldn't get excited on the river just because of hitting a second pair. What's he going to call a sudden raise with that's worse? What can he imagine is your reason for raising, after all? And doesn't it strike you as suspicious that he's betting out on the river after checking the first two streets? If you think he could be bluffing, or that he could think his one-pair hand is good, just call the initial bet.

I really wouldn't discount the possibility of a set. Also, it's hard for him to have a weaker two pair unless he's really fishy (calls stupidly wide preflop). So now that he's shoved over your raise, this seems like a snap fold to me. When the impossible is eliminated, etc. etc.

With no reads no way I put him on set. So he really is only repping j9 q10. I would do same raise, fold river.

insta fold, if he keeps up with that play you should be in more hands with him though for some sweet revenge.

Very ****ty spot. Would really suck if he over played some Qx and shoved you off, but it's a fold especially readless. River raise is fine you could get value from many worse Q's.

Fold QT pre, you can open it up in the CO. Some People do open QTs UTG but you have to better post flop. Not c-betting here is fine to me.

Okay, thanks guys. Only reason I didn't cbet flop was I had cbet my last five raises and gotten called by four of them, so I thought it was time to mix it up a little bit.

Thanks for the help!
