I wasnt prepared to XR flop then barrel 3 streets whether I catch my flush or not, therefore I opted to just XC, but then should I at least C turn?

It's okay to fold turn as played but if villain's cbetting turn a lot you might want to raise flop and barrel, just bc flop really hits your defending range

I like to play in a way that minimizes tough decisions . I'd fold A8 pre from blinds unless it was at least 3 way pot.

By playing this hand they'll be a lot of spots where you flop an Ace or 8 but this hand doesn't stand up to much pressure. Plus if it hits 2pair, flush, trips it's difficult to extract value OOP. In my tight aggro style opinion.

As played fold turn looks fine.

^ don't fold pre.

I think you played it fine. Vs his sizing & that board texture I don't think you're folding anything with a C/R OTF. If you c/c turn and bomb river, you're hand is super face up. WP imo.

Hand is played fine
You can call turn vs a lot of players but vs unknown folding is ok
