i'm folding this river 0% of the time. he's weak loose player who tends to bluff too much and i checked the turn to make him bet the river. and now how much to bet to get the most out?

Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
CO Hero ($20.00)
BTN x_srood1 ($5.59)

Hero raises to $0.60, AkenMitteBoy calls $0.40, x_srood1 calls $0.60, 1 fold, IIkalleII calls $0.40

Flop: 9 Q 5 ($2.50, 4 players)

Min raising is nice if you think villain will call with something like 77.

he's an "action" player and his addiction is to bluff (100% of hands where the turn is checked). if i bet the turn i'm 95% sure he will call and then fold the river if i bet. if i check the river he will check it, most likely, as he have nothing. but now he's in his "mood", he will "take that pot" and i want to take his stack...

I'm just calling this. You say villain is a loose player who bluffs too much. He's calling the flop w/ Qx, 9x, 5x, JT, maybe underpairs or Ax. Checking the turn back is good. The 9 was a bad card and by checking we increase the chance that he'll call with a weaker hand on the river. we also give him a chance to bluff since we've shown weakness.

On the river we just call to save money against a bigger Qx hand or 9x, ect. If he was bluffing he's not likely to call a raise, and all we can really hope to see is QT, Q8, TT, ect.

Given your reads, you were trying to induce a bluff I assume? If so, what does raising accomplish. If you have a read that he goes for thin value on the river, then obv. a raise makes more sense.

Inducing a river bet is pretty much the same as him calling turn and c/f river DUCY?
