Teams draw penalties and free kicks by faking injuries, but additional time is played to make up for injury stoppages...at the ref's discretion.

youre kinda overemphasizing flops. injurys happen a decent bit in soccer, and flops happen in other sports quite a bit. take the NBA and NFL

lol at comparing the diving and feigning injury in football to american football and nba, it happens but with nowhere even close to the same frequency, the amount of diving in football is ridiculous and something needs to be done with it to make it a more enjoyable game to watch. Its a beautiful game, but changes are needed soon.

I'm just guessing the people playing football find it more interesting than tag. Tag gets old pretty fast.

American Football was invented per se. It's a hybrid sport evolved from soccer and rugby. The forward pass wasn't always legal in football. I grew up watching soccer. Played a lot of it. Still sucks.
