hero-Tag image, have recently 3 bet villain IP a few times, one was turned 2pair against his straight but i hit FH on river. V-K10s UTG
villain-39/23 over 130 hands, also villain is platinum star so i figure he knows what hes doing. Table is full of passive fish.
Considering how deep we are,i thought the smooth call on the turn re raise was fine keeping villains range wide on the river.
by the river i think villains range is sets and two pair type hands AQ possibly KK but not AA as he surely raises river here? Maybe he had busted NFD.
Basically against this sort of range, should i have bet more on the river say 3/4 pot? could we turn our hand into a bluff here for max value as so little beats us?
When we've got 400bb up for grabs, the absolute nuts and a villain who seems keen to play for stacks, there is no way I'm calling the turn. I 3bet to like $8 to set up an easy river push.
As played I pop him for $6 OTR, if he x/r draws OTT he's folding everything anyway now he missed, so I'm hoping he has a real hand here and pays us off.
Ahhh it's so easy when u put it like that, not really used to playing this deep, and to be honest i felt this player was way above the usual villain so i was kinda rabbito in the headlamps.
I should say that I'm not used to playing deep either, so don't imagine this is an expert opinion. Just seems to me that we should make a grab for the money.
Also, don't worry about star ratings. It just means they paid a lot of rake so it says nothing about their ability. Even if they are good, I've read posts by small to mid stakes regs who talked about dropping down to nanostakes to donk around when tilted, so just play your game.
