So this is from memory.

Hero has QQ in mp (6 max)

UTG opens to 6bb, hero calls.

HU to the flop

A65 dd

Villain bets pot, hero?

Preflop the massive open sizing threw me off and I didnt know how to respond, thoughts?

Three bet and fold versus anything other than a click back preflop against a fun player. I'm assuming this is 100bb effective.

My experience of these ridic preflop sizings is that they tend to be more weighted towards combos that villain perceives to be tricky post flop, like JJ/AK. But sometimes it's just AA, albeit fish tend to like to limp reraise aces.

You have a premium hand against a fish, so we want to build a pot. As played, I'm fine with a fold if we are readless. We have plenty of big Ax, plus it's also not a bad idea to set mine 55/66 against a fish taking this line.

Yeah as far as I can remember it was 100bb deep. What sort of 3b sizing do you like? Would we treat it like a 4 bet spot with a similar range?

Fold pre if you don't know what to do.

I think big opening sizes incentivize us to play 3bet or fold.

I think 15-16bb is good.

We can set mine against a bigger opening from a fish that's weighted to big pairs and big aces and will go broke with them.

It was kind of an awkward spot but I probably should be 3 betting a hand as strong as queens, would be sick to get jammed on though. Ap I did fold just seemed like he wanted to build a big pot and fish tend to pot pot jam IME

It's okay to raise fold some big-ish preflop hands in certain spots. If villain is a bad rec (likely), then we can raise QQ for value against his very wide calling range and then consider folding against what is likely a very tight 4betting range.

Sure, some recs can mess around with trash when they're on tilt. Until we get that read, we can consider being very tight against four bets. They'll give their money away soon enough in a bad spot.
