Losing micro stakes but do not have a roll on higher stakes Losing micro stakes but do not have a roll on higher stakes

Hey guys,

I have one problem.
When i play .5/.10 6max stakes NLH or simillar micros i am almost every time loosing against players because they just dont know how to fold a draw and i dont know how to play there.

I feel more comfortable playing .50/1 stakes (it looks more as a poker there) but dont have a bankroll for that so than i am busted by suckouts when i have just 4 buyins and my. My monthly payment is aroud $600 so I cant afford to have there $2000 as my bankroll.

What should i do? try to catch some hotrun with these 4 buy ins again?

I Think this is a mistake that by the way is tempting to make.

But if you can't beat the micro games you'll probably get crunched at the medium stakes you're talking about.

Thing is, realistically, if u can't beat the lower stakes chances are you will lose at higher stakes. I think you are posting this because you are taking beats but thats the way the game is and you should use bankroll management to get past the swings and getting your money in ahead most of the time will help you to become a winning player, but obviously the best hand at the time doesn't always finish up the winning hand.

What a problem? This is huge leak from their side. Overbet your made hands against them.
And play good draws (correctly) in multipots yourself.

Try to get better. If you can't beat lower stakes games consistently you won't beat higher stake games consistently.

A large part of your winnings should come from abusing bad players and getting involved with them as much as possible-- that means you need to learn how to exploit them through research and a lot of practice. You also have to become aware of any bad habits you have and get rid of them to improve your win-rate.

If you can't beat a table full of bad players, how will you beat a table with only one or two bad players?

This is a classic "I should move up where they respect my raises" situation - Yes, maybe 100nl regs are more likely to fold a draw when they don't have correct odds, but they're also alot more likely to outplay you on every street. If you can't beat 10nl, don't play 100nl, ESPECIALLY if your entire BR is 4 buy ins. 5 bi swings are standard, you could play well and bust your whole account in one sesh

Personally I'd just short stack 1kNL. Way more ROI there.. Real poker.

Start at NL2 with your bankroll at this size. Learn how to play ABC poker and grind it out. As the others have stated, if you can't beat the lowest levels, you're going to get owned at higher stakes.

Read the stickied strat thread, stop trying to play higher than your bankroll/ability allow you. Get out of the "zomg I have to move up to where tehy respect my raises" mentality.
