I was playing in the 5/10 limit game with a kill at Foxwoods. For those unfamiliar, the kill in the 5/10 limit game means that the game becomes $10/20 when an unchopped pot over $100 is won, and the game remains $10/20 until there is a pot below $100. The winner of the $100 pot has to post $10 regardless of position.

This hand occurred during a kill pot. I was on the button with J9 suited in spades. There were several limpers ahead of me which was consistent with how the game had been going. I called the J9 suited, the small blind completed and the big blind checked. The flop came Q 10 4 rainbow with no spades. The small blind checked, the loose big blind bet, then it folded to the tight aggressive player to my right who called. I decided to just call. My first question is should I have raised in hopes of a free card? I was reasonably certain if I raised that the two players would have just called before the turn.

I called and the turn came the K of spades, giving me a straight with no flush possibilities. The big blind bet again and the player to my right immediately raised. I immediately re-raised. The big blind folded, the player to my right angrily called, and then check-called me on the meaningless river card - 7 or an 8, and I won with my straight.

I feel like I should have played this hand differently but I'm not sure. If I cold-called the raise to my right on the turn, I think the big blind may have called and he may have even picked up two pair on the river, and being a loose player he may have cold-called the raise I would have made on the river after the player to my right inevitably bet the river. Any advice from anyone?

Just noticed that this section is supposed to be for NL games. I'm new to this posting stuff - where can I find a limit section? Or is that not even visited because everyone is all about NL?

raising flop could be good, build the pot because its not likely you will get 3bet, but you get 2 more calls, increases your equity i would think, i suck at limit tho.
