My opponent in this hand is extremely loose. I won a large portion of my stack off him in a preflop all in with AA vs his Q5.

Looking over the hand history, I feel I probably should have reraised more preflop. After the 4th card to a straight came on the board, I was afraid he really could have a 4 in his hand, given previous play during the session; that's why I bet a small amount on the turn, in an attempt to prevent him from going all-in on the river should I check behind.

Am I passing up value by not betting more on the turn and river? Even looking over what I wrote I think the answer is almost certainly yes, but I would like some input. Should I have been willing to get all in, or maybe bet more / fold?

More pre.

Raise a touch more on flop.

Jam turn. There aren't really any chips left in stacks for the river.

You can't really be scared of the 4 here. It sounds like it could be in villains range, but so is 6x, 5x etc..His donk bet on the flop is meaningless and is most likely a weak pair or flush draw. I guess you could argue he is drawing to the straight but I make it 1/2 psb on turn and fold to a raise. When he calls the turn and checks the river I think you have to bet for value here. Villain has shown no real aggression and looks like he is just trying to get to show down cheap.

he never checks a better hand to you on the river imo

FWIW I think villains range here is much more weighted towards 88-QQ, AKdd, AQdd, KQdd etc.....

Do you genuinely think there are many 5x, 6x hands in villains 3bet calling range?

I completely mis read the preflop action. I don't know why but I didn't see villains 3 bet I think you're right about his range and that also completely throws off my analysis. I definitely don't think he is 3 betting with a 4, so it helps there. I think it's much wore weighted to middle pp since he didn't 5 bet ship it pre. He could also have two high diamonds like you suggested. I think I bet more on the turn here, closer to 3/4 psb and if he calls then make a smaller value bet on the river.

Thanks for pointing that out Spraggy.
