I remember read on a poker book about avatars and nick names but not really care much as are only general asumptions, have avatars off as are distracting and have hud over names cause not care to see if his name is negreanu72 or lovetoeatfish to take decisions, prefeer to see his stats or read his notes.

It is good to see names against regs, they might have similar stats in many spots but style/history will differ.

Not even starting on how weird it sounds to assume a fish is gonna take a fish avatar.
they do, they pick it cos they know it represents them well

This is completely terrible. How do you remember your reads on someone if you can't see their name? Also you get important reads from seeing if your opponent's name is ivansergay40 or benabadbeat and if their avatar is a stack of chips or the gripsed logo

haha great insightful article so i guess you, mzbourg, exo etc. must all fit into the hot girl avatar category "This guy is playing 24 tables, and grinding out a 1 pt/bb winrate. At least give him the pleasure of looking at his favorite hot girl on every table."

Didn't know you guys were 24 tabling nits

The little sign showing that someone is logged on from a phone is usually a more solid indication of fishiness than the avatar IMO, on Stars at least.

whenever i see someone with the fish avatar i automatically tag them as a fish. the avatar is basically a tag in itself.

Phone or Tablet icon is my bread and butter for picking on people. Even if they're a solid player, the no HUD factor, plus being on a phone or tablet usually indicates at least SOME form of social scenario, so they're definitely not at their best.

When the thread started it sounded like you were kidding, but like you aren't really funny. At this point nobody can be this unfunny so I'm going to assume you are serious, but brain damaged for thinking this.

I am pretty sure durrrr picked his handle to tilt people, so why not do the same with avatars? Anything that causes fish and tilty regs to spazz more = +EV.

Same with OMGClayAiken

I reckon my avatar is pretty tilting.

I get really tilted when non-Australians have a Koala avatar.

I get tilted mainly by a person with a smug face.

Something like this would **** me to no end.

Are you implying he's a d-bag? I'm sure you don't know who he is but if you did, you would know that he's anything but. I mean the typical d-bag pics that vinivici mentioned.

Last edited by .isolated; 06-06-2015 at 03:22 AM. Reason: nor does he look like a d-bag but you're free to block it!
