Villian is a 24/20/2, first time playing him.. I was playing 18/16/3 at this table.
the reason for me doing this was that he instacalled pre.. which leads me to believe he has something like AQ/AJ, KQ type hands or smaller pairs (which we should discount after flopcall) and he called fairly quickly on the flop. is it just stupid trying to get him off a hand here?

It's not crazy, but it never works in my experience - they always fold when I have it and call/shove when I don't, lol.

he is definitely not folding an ace and given you think he hasa AQ/AJ in his range alot and would fold smaller pairs..

I don't love the spot, but I think you did a good job of repping a real big hand.

I should probably have posted this hand from villian's perspective instead, giving him AQ/AJ

this seems really bad. people usually fold the flop.

rly?

I'm not defending my play or anything, but why would I be bluffing here very often? I guess the BDFD makes it more plausible, but I shouldn't be having many fd's here

Your repping a big hand by betting this flop & turn is really very impressive, except for the fact that he called your 3bet PF so he actually HAS a hand that hit this flop probably very well, and is never going to fold to your 2barrel.

If there had been no 3bet PF then this would've been a decent attempt.

You guys like the flop bet right..

It doesn't really accomplish anything except perhaps fold out QQ/JJ, but it's probably the cheapest way of not making a mistake..
