Hey everybody this is my first post. I want to pre-face this with saying that I have no friends that play poker and have come upon this interest myself. For that, I cannot bounce my idea's off of anybody at this time. I hope this forum can maybe help me out, and I help in return.
Anyway just a brief intro then my question: I'm in my 2nd year of grad school training to be a clinical psychologist and I've been playing poker off and on for a few years (very briefly and very badly). Over the summer I spent most of July and August reading book after book after book and testing the theories, stats, etc. Only last Friday have I started getting serious though. My VPIP/PFR is usually around 23/18
I depostied $50 into poker stars and in 5 days I've multiplied my $50 bankroll x7 (total right now = $334). I have been playing solely $2 MTT 180 man Turbo's and I've won 3 and come in 6th once with a handful of 10th-18th. I was just wondering....
QUESTION#1: I know this tourny is full of fish but is placing in the money 7 out of 24 times good? Like I said I came in 1st place 3 times, 6th once and placed 3 other times ($108x3=324).
QUESTION#2: Now that my bankroll is up to $335, should I consider moving up to the $4 MTT's, $6MTT's, or continue to grind? I just tested $4 MTT (non turbo) and I didn't do as well, however it was simply due to my nervousness of the "perceived" better players in $4 tournies....are they even betteR?
QUESTION#3: Are these good stats for winning%? I don't know if I'm actually gaining in skill or if i'm just competent relative to crappy players.
I appreciate the response!
Beau
