Villain in this hand is a pretty LAGgy moron, having done things like cold 4-bet out of position with Jack high, coldcalling raises with Q9o and calling down with a pair, etc. He got his big stack by rivering trips on me in a big pot and by generally outflopping everyone else.

That said, I never saw him make an overbet like this. I checked the river to induce him to bluff with whatever pair he was calling down with - and then I got it jammed down my throat. Gawd I hate poker. Can I call this or I am just spewing?

betting is way better than c/c-ing imo. his calling range is wider than his betting range imo.

uh snap this? if hes bad like you say he's doing this with maybe Q9 and QT and a flush plus al the hands which beat you and also if he has KQ

8 combos of Q9 and QT each for a total of 16 combos. But how many of those combos 2x river pot. Let's say half of them to be very generous. If we take into account the other combos of flushes, boats, and better queens, I think we've realized that it's a fold.

Your logic in checking the river to induce is very flawed. He probably isn't turning most pairs into a bluff here and you're missing out on tons of value by not betting this yourself.

checking isn't the way to induce a mistake here. if you have a good read on how he'd react to different bet sizes you could bet/call, but just expect a moron to call again with worse most of the time

The river is an awful card to induce. If the spade doesn't hit you can check and snap-call most fish.
But the way this hand went down you should obviously bet/fold.
