Where are you moving from, and why the urge to go to Cali?

I've lived in CA my whole life and I can tell you, it's pretty boring where I'm from (SF Bay Area), and LA is a little better but there are definitely still some cons to moving there. Either way, my perception might be skewed since I've been living in CA for like 23 years now (oops just gave away my age)

When I was like five my parents sold everything they owned and moved to Mexico. Couple months later they ended up moving back to the States. They were stoked about time they spent down there and remain so - moral of the story sometimes you just got to move and see what the **** is out there, worse case scenario minus a an unemployed school bus driver chainsawing a moderately sized redwood and the half a million squirrels that live in the tree jump ship and sabotage your car and you die in a fiery death at the bottom of a cliff, is that you decided that Cali isn't for you and you move back to where ever you're from and you have less **** and you are little more poor . . . so it's like w/e at least you did something, right?

give yourself a week to think it over and decide if you really want to move there. Talk to your family and see how they feel about it. I'll assume you have a few friends out there that will make it a smoother move than just getting up and moving to a new city. But if you need a change of scenery to get over her then by all means give it a shot.

Yea I just had a very long talk about it with my parents today. I just need a change of scenery and I've never been. My best friend goes to UCSD, and I'm going to room with a 2+2'er who I coached in the past. I think it'll be a good break and learning experience.
