The problem with taking shots at 20bi without having been there is that you probably don't even have a serious enough sample at the previous stake to know your winrate. Taking shots a level above what you can actually crush, when way underrolled is a recipe for disaster, especially if you dont have strong mental control.
ya im not a huge fan of a 20 bi shot, youll play differently from the optimal strategy, even if you dont think so its subconcious. I keep like 150-200 buyins online myself, im probably the biggest br nit ever but like today i played 10 hrs and was down 4 buyins or something if i had a stop loss of if i was underolled i would have quit but then i made 10 buyins in the last 2 hours

id be interested in how many BIs u had when you were taking shots.. surely not 150.. did u take shots with like 30_BI rolls?

ive never really "taken shots" ive pretty much always had over a hundred buyins since i used my tourney winnings to get me started, i wouldnt recommend though having less than 50 buyins. one thing to keep in mind is that the higher up you are the more buyins you need because the agressive play is condusive to more variance and in theory each time you move up your win rate is going to be slimmer. So if your starting out at like .10/20 cent then maybe you can survive off of 35 buyins or something, but if its 2/4 NL i would want over 100 buyins esp if im multitabling. The less buyins you have and are taking a shot with the more you should be game selecting and the less tables you should be playing in general.

Nit talk imo, 30-40 is fine with a proven winning record and reasonable stoploss. The higher I got the more aggressive shots I took because I play multiple stakes and don't get much action at the highest ones and because I also bumhunt much harder that high.

Thanks to everyone who emailed stars, try to remember to do it like once a week, I'll probably post a reminder here if I remember

Yeah, it's hard for them to incorporate that into the program. But it does count correct amount won or loss, so don't worry, except u can't see second board.

Flying out to vegas for 4 days or so sometime between Jun 22nd-Jul 1st. Had a friend bail on my last minute, anybody wanna split a hotel room, preferably at the Rio (I'm playing WSOP).

Also I've never been to Vegas so any advice would be cool.

Edit: Any reason not to stay at Gold Coast? So cheap and is really close.

dunno if there are any golf fans here, but tiger's approach to 18 might win him the Open

I'm a huge golf fan, of the game and the tour in general, but 5 shots back with one day left is pretty daunting, even for tiger. especially the tiger as of late.

But with that said, it is TIGER after all.

I want to go down to Pebble and actually play a round sometime. It's about $500. Hehehehe.

@metski: cake has 20nl i think, but yeah, at those stakes the rake is loltastic. Just grind 6max until you can take shots at 50nl hu imo, and even then I would game select and quit nits/players you have a very minute edge on. IIRC, when I started at 50nl, I just bumhunted and built a roll - I learned quickly thru videos and what not but yeah, its tough to start out at the rake heavy limits.

5 shots is a lot, true... BUT Dustin Johnson is practically a rookie, has never been in this spot before, and Graehm McDowell (also might as well be a rookie in terms of experience contending for a major championship) is the only other player in between (for example, take Aaron Baddeley's performance as leader in the final round of last year's PGA).

Factoring all of that into the equation, plus Tiger's history at Pebble and the momentum generated by his third round back nine, I'd say his chances look very good to pick up number 15.

I hope so. I'm a Tiger fan. He hasn't won a major since 2008 so it would be good for him to make this run at it. Plus I dont want Phil to get world #1. Lol

yeah tiger's hard not to like..

and **** phil (although he seems like one of the nicer guys on tour)

Phil just seems too fake sometimes to the public for me. He always smiles and nods his head constantly, in acknowledgement of the crowd, its a bit excessive. He does it to the point where after awhile, I think it's an act.

I hear is he is well respected though on the tour and I'm sure he is a nice guy in general, but TOO nice sometimes. And his sponsor is hilarious, an accounting firm, KPMG? haha

Needless to say, glad he won a few majors, especially after the choke-fest he had that one year at winged foot? not sure

Hi, a while ago some person posted a PDF file, that contained the best threads of HUNL. it also might have been best of 2+2, but it was mainly weighted towards HUNL. Could some one point me to that thread or know the wereabouts of that PDF.file. I'd really like to read it.

Thanks

- Love
