I really think it's a small price to pay to significantly reduce swings.
Stop scaring me LJ, tell me the happy stories.

They don't win more often but they lose less often. 80/20 situtations become chops 32% of the time (although they only win then 4%). So if you get it in good and they chop...way less tilt. If they get it in good, your chances of sucking out and tilting them go down. I guess you can tilt them by chopping though.

Dear Poker Gods,

When I'm running bad in EV, just spare me the coolers on top of it... k thx.

But yeah, this is basically a snippet of how my last 6 months have been. Lots and lots of days like this.

The good news is that I'm in decent spirits about it, played really really really really well and am still going to play later. But FML.

My fiance suggested that I make a bet with someone on who runs worse, as I'm now comfortably in the -200 BIs in EV at 2/4 (up like 50 at 5/10 though, but down a ton in EV at 25/50 while even at 10/20). I think it's starting to sound like a really good idea.

EDIT: Fwiw... not that it really needs justification, but his 5bet shoving range is 99+,AK... and I dunno what he does with AQ to be honest. He did snap shove 300BBs with AK though. RIT actually saved me there as his AKo spiked the flush on the river to my AKo, we tied the next pot so it saved me a few hundred, although it totally boned me in like 3-4 other spots.

EDIT2:
Forgot this one:

$2/$4 No Limit Holdem
2 Players
Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com

Stacks:
BTN ($2,685)
Hero ($771)

Pre-Flop: ($6, 2 players) Hero is BB 10 Q
BTN raises to $12, Hero calls $8

Flop: J 8 Q ($24, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: 3 ($24, 2 players)
Hero bets $16, BTN calls $16

River: 4 ($56, 2 players)
Hero bets $52, BTN raises to $224, Hero calls $172

Final Pot: $504
Hero shows
10 Q
BTN shows
5 A

BTN wins $503 (net +$251)

Hero lost $252

I almost folded that one. He has a flush 10000000000000000% of the time but it can definitely be lower than Qd, but if you think about it there aren't a ton.

There's a BBV of it:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...equity-658447/

I've added on another -20 or so since then.

20-30 of those came from Cake where the converter may have messed things up. So if you want to go conservative you can say -180.

master could you please confirm that this does not happen only to me:

1. some hyperaggrressive spewmonkey asks you to play 2+ tables
2. you play for 30 minutes
3. you're down 15 bi.
4. you can't think of anything you did wrong.

this happens like twice monthly to me.

Please stop bragging.

In all seriousness I've had 6 months of this. I want to say half my sessions go like this, but there's always a "runbad bias" where you want to think you ran worse than you did, so I'll call it 25% of my sessions have gone this way.

And I'm not kidding that I'm 200 BIs under EV at 2/4. There's screenshots above.

Although "only" 60 or so of those are in the last 3-4 months.

I was playing 25/50 and 10/20, had a rough patch, moved down... ran worse. Moved down, had a rough patch, ran worse... moved down, had a rough patch, ran worse.

Actually I had this problem too "cannot connect so sql server" or something. Apparently postreSQL doesn't always work properly after installation and you have to reboot your mac again. Did the trick for me.

@gugel you do understand that nobody is tilted by the actual graphic, it is just the selfishness that comes with making your post stick out above everyone elses.

kinda hard to believe you are " in good spirits" about it considering 90% of your posts contain something about how bad you run. But still being that far under is pretty gross.

any ideas on how to learn to shrug it off yet? i struggle with this as well, how good or bad I'm running has way more impact on how my general mood is then it should.
