In rugby(union and league to a degree) you have backs which are normally 14-16stoneish and quick as *** with the wingers normally being quickest(easily sub 11 second 100 metre guys) then you have the forwards who are still relatively quick(most of them) for their size and they are normally anything from 17-22 stoneish and have ears chewed off, permanently broken fingers, shoulders so tough from tackling players of all sizes(without pads). And believe me I used to play rugby and to say that anyone doesnt hit as hard as they can because they aint got pads is not true lol.
just lol to this. yes they are very tough. no they aren't as big/fast/athletic as nfl teams (or college for that matter). here is the starting defense for the new york giants

i'm too lazy to look up the results for each individual player but here are some combine results from last year's NFL draft (the top 300 or so prospects coming out of college). also note that the most elite players generally don't do these workouts at the combine, so this isn't like the cream of the crop.

If you look through you will see all the 40 yard dash times as well as the bench press numbers. They test each player to see how many repetitions of 225 pounds (~102kg) they can do.
I'll give you the full rundown on one rookie's results since it seems comparable to a rugby player's size and he is a good player.

i would be extremely surprised if you could find rugby players that measure up with those metrics. and i'm not using some freak outlier here either, he played in a middling conference in college, is a good player, but nothing too amazing--he is an average nfl running back.
