Random is more fun as long as there are enough players to go around at each tier.

I've seen other pools handle scoring like this. We each get 6 picks from each tier, then best 5 scores are added up and the lowest score wins. If a golfer fails to make cut then the highest score from that round is used.

This would be totally random with tiers. It's just how the scoring would be instead of just a winner. I am open to different scoring though although I think this would be a better sweat than just low scores.
