How to progress from the micros into SSNL How to progress from the micros into SSNL

I've enjoyed my time at 2p2 and just wanted to make a post with things I learnt and picked up while I served my time in the micros.

Before I start here is a graph of my lifetime micro stakes.

This is when I used to play on Stars. As you can see I started off playing 2NL with a 40 dollar roll in Dec 2008 and slowly moved my way up to 10NL/25NL/50NL

Somewhere in between I decided to improve on my game and you can see from the improving NSD line.

Then I moved to FTP

Now I'm playing 100NL on FTP and I can say I have definitely learnt to crush 50NL.

Things to note at micros:
1. 50NL is not the same as 25NL and 25NL is not the same as 10NL.
2. You make money by other players calling YOU and not YOU calling THEM.
3. The regs are not as good as you think they actually are.
4. Learn how to handread by actively watching hands you're not involved with and TAKE NOTES. I cannot stress how important taking notes is. Taking notes has helped me develop reads that have immensely helped in decision in the same session v the same player as I play 12 tables at the same time and without READS, you're always ****ED.
5. Position is so important.
6. Value bet the **** out of the noobs, I see too many players checking back AK on Axxxx dry boards for no ****ing reason.
7. Do not overestimate the handreading skills of your villains because if they were good they would not be playing micros. So do NOT attempt to bluff people off an obvious overpair or TPTK hand just because it's "obvious that I was chasing a flush draw and now hit it on the river!"
8. Stop set mining/calling with low suited connectors in 3bet pots for 100bbs just because you getting 10 to 1 preflop because you dont stack them enough of the time.
9. Stop ****ing thinking AA/KK is the nuts on every ****ing street and recognise when you have to let it go.
10. Always be the aggressor, but this does not mean to cbet every flop you see because even the worst of regs will pick up on this and will own you. Recognise which flops are good to cbet and which are not.

I put this together really hastily so don't abuse me I did this all in good intentions. PM me if you have more questions
