0.10/0.20 6max NL

UTG has $12.12
I have $19.35

I am MP with Q T
UTG calls, I raise $0.80, 3 folds, UTG calls

flop comes 7 9 J( 2 players, $1.90)
UTG checks, I bet $1.42, UTG calls

turn comes 8( 2 players, $4.74)
UTG checks, I bet $3.55, UTG calls

river comes 6(2 players, $11.84)
UTG checks, I ????

second hand at the table so no reads, flop is standard c-bet, or is it, seemed like a good place for a c-bet to me, he calls, so I figure he must have something, but im totally new to NL so not really sure how to take this.
I hit my straight on the turn, its also the 3 flush, but ive played for the straight and hit it, so I feel i have to bet out. He calls, no raise, im worried that hes planning to play me like a sucker and check raise the river. So check it through would seem to be the most sensible thing, but am I losing value? What else plays like this, top pair? I guess this is where reads help :S

The fact that your straight beats the naked T is huge. I push.

Besides, you can't really ask "what hand plays like this" against an unknown shortstacker at NL20. It's just impossible to say. He could snapcall river with pocket 3s for all you know. Happens all the time.

Push the river. He has around 2/3 pot left, so any other bet than all-in is just gonna be awkward and silly.

Shortstack means he bought in for less than 100BB which I presume is the maximum, which usually indicates a bad player.

Theres soooo many hands that you beat. He could even have called that turn with a set. He didn´t reraise it because he was scared of you having a 10 or a flush. He could hold any 10 worse than yours so push river. If he has the flush he played it poorly and should have bet the river.
