Turn:(48.5 BB, 2 players) 7 Hero checks, BTN bets 57.5 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 57.5 BB
River:(163.5 BB, 2 players) 7
Spoiler:
Hero shows A K (One Pair, Sevens)
(Pre 7%, Flop 1%, Turn 0%) BTN shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Sevens)
(Pre 93%, Flop 99%, Turn 100%) BTN wins 155.5 BB
can somebody tell me how avoid mindlessly dumping chips in this spot?! also why was it so hard to fold? i understand AA vs AK is hard to play correctly but i just wish i had been able to fold please somebody help...should i have shoved pre..generally speaking i find it very hard to get away from hands once ive commited a decent amount of chips in the middle why is this and what can i do about it?
You're already under 100bb, so why are you not willing to get this in pre flop? And if you're not willing to get it in preflop then why is it hard to check/fold the flop vs. that insane sizing.
CO vs. BTN this needs to be a 4bet even at NL2 especially with short stacks.
There is no shame in just check-folding a flop if you don’t connect. If one of your cards was a heart maybe I could get behind a float but even then, out of position, just ditch it and move on.
Your hand was strong preflop but after the flop it no longer is. You should have much better hands in your range to continue with that I think you can let this one go.
I'd prefer raising a little bigger from the CO than 2bbs. Definitely need to 4b oop. I think you can fold the flop for that sizing as you're OOP and don't have the bdnfd,
