Hi guys. Had a hand tonight which make me wonder if I should play the same on a HU table as on a 6max table, when playing only one opponent.
I have just started playing again as I have had a new work contract recently and decided to cashout and work my ass off to get the 36month training contract. I have the job and I am going to start playing again, working from the bottom up.
The hand is vs a total unknown, first hand. I have played a lot of microstakes HU, and left a small roll on a euro site which I still occasionally play on. In the hand I would not hesitate to get this in on a micro HU table first hand, vs an unknown. You just cant fold top pair with no information and for 100bbs, even on the most disgusting board as this is.

When playing six max is this the wrong play? When someone sits you I assume they wont have too much HU experience, and be a ring player looking for a quick game. I neither assume they are good or bad, I just assess over the first few hands what they are doing and can usually judge pretty well their style. I do have a get it in range for the first hand, at least at a HU table, and I probably wouldnt change it for 6max, especially if they are not fullstacked. Generally, 66+ and ATo+ I dont cry about bet calling a 3b shove.
But being ring players, does this mean their OTF get in ranges will be tighter than it would be on a eurosite 25nl HU table, for example?
His holding is kind of irrelevant, I just want to know what you guys think about tightening ranges when not on dedicated HU tables, as the field you are against may not be as agressive as regular HU players are.
