I have a 25NL FR background [2.5BB winner over like 500k+ hands] starting tables a fair bit recently doing alright, but a lot of ppl won't play me [bumhunters gonna bumhunt?] Doing alright there.
What is peoples opinions on the most important learning pathway to focus on while i am transitioning to 2 tabling 50NL HU from being a 9-24 tabling 25NL FR reg?
My plan is to a bit of everything, but what do people think its the most important aspect besides volume?
Coaching? HH review with rando grinders? Videos? Reading threads on 2+2 obsessively?
Hm... I don't know if this is the answer you are looking for but the most important thing for transitioning to HU (or just playing good poker in general) is constantly think about ranges and frequencies. Poker is poker but the way people learn to play 6-max/FR/MTT a lot of times people become too obsessed with what they should do but not why they should do it. Constantly think about why someone is doing something, and think about how you can exploit it.
I remember when I first heard that poker is about playing the player and not the cards, I thought it was ******ed. The more poker I play, the more I realized how true that saying is. Poker can be simplified down to a few steps.
1) Identify villain's weakness/imbalance
2) Evolve your strategy to attack weakness/imbalance
3) ???????????
4) Profit
Rinse and repeat if/when villain adapts.
