Ive just started playing poker online. Any comments advice would be very much appreciated.

PokerStars - $0.10/$0.25 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

BTN: $44.36 177BB (VPIP: N/A, PFR: N/A, 3Bet Preflop: N/A, Hands: 0)
Hero (SB): $25.57 102BB
Villain UTG: $25 100BB (VPIP: N/A, PFR: N/A, 3Bet Preflop: N/A, Hands: 0)

Hero posts SB 0.10

Hero has Q 10

fold, fold, Villain (UTG) raises to $0.62, BTN folds, Hero (SB) calls $0.62, BB calls $0.62

Flop: ($1.78, 3 players) 4, 2, 4
Hero checks, BB checks, villain bets $0.75, hero calls, BB folds

Turn: ($3.21, 2 players) 3
Hero checks, Villian checks

River: ($3.21, 2 players) A

Hero checks, Villian bets $5.25, Hero raises to $10.50, Villian all-in $23.63, Hero calls.

Villian shows A A (Full House, Aces full of fours)
Hero has 2nd-nut flush

Villain wins pot of $48.62

1. Should I have been in this hand to begin with? I like to defend my blinds

2. Looking back at the hand is my analysis right?

i) I hit the river flush, I think if I bet, the villian will fold, as its a scary wet flush board. I thought if I check he might try a bluff and I can take his bluff money.

ii) After he bets the river, is this when I make my mistake?. I hoped he bluffed and he did (I thought), so really I should just call this, right? Since his (assumed) bluff will fold to a re-raise. So there is no point in me re-raising? I'm representing a flush, he is only going to call with the nut flush or full house or quads. So my re-raise could gain me nothing but land me in trouble.

iii) When he 4bet me, for some reason I thought he was bluffing again so I called his all in since I had a pretty good flush.

I do not consider this a bad beat - in my limited understanding of poker terminology.

So is my thinking correct that it was a mistake to re-raise the river? Or did I play this hand on the river wrong some other way? Or play it wrong earlier in the hand?

QTs is one of the 12% of hands I play from small blind vs cutoff. I 3-bet it a bunch. Personally I'd bet/fold the river. People check back with heaps of stuff that they'll call with. As played he bet nearly double the pot dude!!!!! Just fold and move on, he basically always has a boat. Definitely dont raise. And then when he 3-bet jams on you, this = a boat always.

It will seem tedious but maybe move down in stakes. 10NL is tougher than a lot of live 500NL

Just call the river, raising is suicide without the nfd on a paired board.

Also, not to sound rude, but you need to move down in stakes otherwise you will be losing quite a bit of money. I say this in the sincerest of manners.

Check raising that river is massively overplaying your hand.

Is this 3 handed? It's not clear tbh. HH says 2 folds before Villain raises UTG?!

you got the 3rd highest flush & there are full house combos. Just call.
