Is this a good squeeze spot? Or should I just take a flop? what about If I had 55,9Ts or A5s? still not squeezing?

The villians was after 25 hands.
UTG: 25/27/N/A.
CO:14/4/N/A.
BTN: 19/16/infinite.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

UTG: $10.60
MP: $9.14
CO: $4.18
BTN: $10.62
SB: $11.67
Hero (BB): $10.15

Pre-Flop: A J dealt to Hero (BB)
UTG raises to $0.35, MP folds, CO calls $0.35, BTN calls $0.35, SB folds, Hero?

I'm prob not squeezing here with decent aces, if UTG is decent he's prob opening with AK/AQ and JJ+ a decent amount of the time and will at least call. U'll often find u never know where ur at on most boards and regularly stack off with TP. As for 55 and other small pocket pairs it's just far too easy to set mine here profitably; squeezing with small pairs just leaves u guessing on a lot on flops too.

As for suited raggy aces and connectors I definately like 3betting, especially 1 and 2 gappers although more likely to flat the better SCs(pretty much 9T+) since they play better multiway much like small PP. The flops are much easier to play when it comes 3bet pots too since ur hand is often very polarized.

My only qualms about 3betting here are:
- we are relatively new to the table. These stats on villains aren't necessarily representative of their action play.
- This is 10NL, and people are less apt to give up AQ here

I absolutely think this is a good squeeze spot though, should it occur when we're more sure of our opponents' stats. We wouldn't really be too worried about UTG's range, the call from our TW friend in CO doesn't denote an extraordinary amount of strength, and BTN just passed up the opportunity to squeeze.

Obviously, we'd normally be most worried about the UTG raise. But guy is so LAGGY that we're almost discounting him.

While the CO would normally be ideal, I wouldn't say the thought process is usually running through his head that "guy UTG is LAG, my Arag has equity". I think he'll actually show up with small PP here every now and then. But, being tight-weak, i'm sure he's much more apt to lay his hands down either way.

And then the BTN, clearly a very LAGGY player, has an incredibly wide range.

So our 3bet here is going to force the UTG player to lay down a considerable amount of the time, given his range is wide and he's squeezed by two others to act behind you. CO folds because he's tight-weak, and that's what tight-weak players do. BTN has a weak hand. whether he folds or calls, you're happy, as AJs is crushing his range.

Bravo!

You mostly want to squeeze with the best hands you wouldn't normally raise with (say, 9s6s). If raised, you can let it go easily. If called, you can hit the flop hard with a very disguised hand, or you can still win the pot with a cbet even if you don't hit the flop. And if you miss, and the post flop action gets heavy, again, it's easy to let go since it's not that great a hand.

AsJs is probably not one of those hands.

Thanks for the replies and analysis, made me think deeper about this hand and learn more about squeezeing!

I'm still a bit curious as to how others play this hand.
Cause I'm never just taking a flop with AJs in this spot...
Call it a squeeze or not, I'm 3betting preflop. Everyone just seems to scream weakness here IMHO.

Perhaps I'm too ******ed aggro at 6max tables? =)
What does everyone else do here?

You have great relative position and are getting great implied odds. Just call. If you squeeze you are often going to end up OOP in a bloated pot, basically committed to stacking off with top pair against relatively tight players.

But then you're betting for value, and that's technically not a squeeze. If you 3 bet here with AA, it's the same play, but in that case you're hoping someone will call (or raise thinking you're squeezing). A true squeeze you're hoping for folds.
