So below is a hand and I need to know if I played it wrong. Villian is a tight player from what I've seen. My reasoning is at the bottom.

I shoved on the turn because I thought he was making a play for the pot and didn't think he would call a re-raise cuz he wouldn't have checked the flop with JJ's up through Aces and I didn't think he was as strong a trip tens.

So was the turn shove all wrong?
Should I have bet the flop?
Thank You

4 way in a 3b pot, he's rarely ever taking a stab at it with air. This is a horrible spot to try and pick off a move.

The villain also didn't buy the bluff because you didn't bet the flop. You would never check that flop with AA,KK,QQ,or any overpair in a 4 way pot. He's not putting you on a set with a board like 2 10 8 either. No way you 3 bet his initial raise with any of those pairs. So he knows you dont have a big pair, and he knows you don't have a set, and the game of incomplete information becomes pretty complete IMO. For the future, when you think about making a bluff like that, take into account your previous actions to see if it makes sense.

I play 6max, but I would say your range there is AQ+ with a club the majority of the time and snapcall with any pair, even if I somehow have 33 there.

buy in for $50

i would probably 3bet bigger pf intending to get it in since initial raiser only has about 50bb's.

with 3 other people in the pot you can pretty much give up on doing anything postflop. but if you want to take a stab, making a normal cbet on the flop is a lot better than this. you played the hand in a way that you risked your entire (effective) stack while repping nothing.

Grindcore's pic is blowing my mind.

Is the donkey supposed to be a mediocre grinder trying to lure helpless fish but attracting sharks instead?

Or is the shark going for the 1 K about to get reeled in?

Or is it simply that both shark and donkey are trapped in a Hegelian dialectic they can never escape, which is represented by the fishing line?

Fold turn, you rep exactly a bluff. No one slow plays a big hand in your spot four handed on that board in a 3bet pot. So your shove will be interpreted as "I have nothing but I think you have nothing too" so any show down value will look you up.

I wonder about that myself aswell tbh. I was just messing around in MSpaint with various things and simply ended up with this, before I really started thinking about what it was actually representing. Kinda like a poor bluff I guess haha.

I have a theory about the donkey trapping the shark with a boat (ie full house), but something inside me doesn't want the shark to get owned in the picture, rather the other way around, so I prefer thinking the donkey is shipping 1K to the shark because he obviously didn't intend for this to happen (I mean, the shark is larger than his boat so no way this is gonna end well for him).

Back on topic now (though I think nothing more needs to be said).
