Deep stacked maniac mis-click....do I play for stacks? Deep stacked maniac mis-click....do I play for stacks?

This maniac was running 86/59/3.9 (632 hands). I'm obviously 99.9% sure this is a mis-click as he often raises to $1.25 pre flop.

He has built his stack from a combination of suck-outs and players calling him down light due to his table image.

Players to act behind me are:

Button 22/14/2.3
SB 19/17/3.5
BB 23/11/1.3

Would you play for stacks in this spot?

Thanks.

I did fold, and so did everyone else. The player admitted it was a mis-click and said he had 75.

I was obviously well ahead of his range but it still felt like a marginal situation with stacks so deep.

If you're really anywhere near that sure, you have to call. you're about 2:1 vs his range. This is way too big an edge to pass up for 500BB.

Not to be a dick, but WTF? Maybe try and think a bit deeper than platitudes, guys? You guys get 100BB in on the flop with 2pair+ and big draws, right? So you're routinely flipping 80-100BB stacks for like 30-40BB dead money. There you win and average of 1/4-1/5 your stack every time. Here you win an average of 1/3 of your stack. Much bigger edge, five times the money. In a game of pushing small edges, here's a hudge edge for 5 BI, and you want to wait for a better spot? How much better do you think it gets?

Against a completly random hand your 65/35, if your sure its a misclick sure call, but this is AK alot of the time from what Ive seen, the times that this exact situation comes up when your both 250BBs deep is so minimal that I dont think its gonna effect your rate that much at all

Yes.....thats what's niggling me about this hand. I think my decision was clouded by the stack sizes.

If his standardraise is really 1.25 I'd probably call. It would be a sick level if he raised to $125 specific for this reason with AA. It's high variance but definatly +EV IMO. It's like shoving over your straight forward unimaginative friend with any2 when he makes it 30x preflop and types "crap" on msn :P

I don't see the point in playing for stacks with AQo just because it's a misclick from a maniac. I'd wait for a better spot.

It's 500BB, not just 250. And against the top 50% (roughly villain's raising range) you're also about 65/35. It all depends on how often he did misclick. This is never AK, IMO. It's AA or a misclick. So we need it to be a misclick about 70% of the time to break even.

Your EV is like +175BB. If that's not good enough reason, you're doing it wrong.

Thought it was 50nl, I def fold then, just cause 5buyin swings are not fun, even if it is a little bit of a loss in EV, if I were to lose I would probably tilt. Bankroll is also a factor here, if you have 20BIs for your limit its a easy fold I think, more BIs = more tending to call

Yeah, lowering variance is the only rational reason to pass this up. But having so much cash on the table that you aren't willing to go all in is a huge leak, especially against somebody this aggressive. And if we pass this up b/c we're not bankrolled for it we should have left the table 3 buyins ago.

But we didn't, so I'm assuming our only concern is maximising our earn. Maybe folding now give you a better chance (since you're deep and in position) to get 3 1/2 more BI out of this guy before somebody else does, but I doubt it.

lol

If I had seen him make this raise size multiple times, I would call with AQo. But if this was the first time ever, I would fold.

I don't think this was a misclick cuz he would have had to "accidentally" slide the raise slider that far to the right. I think he probably just picked up a big hand.

I don't think this was a misclick cuz he would have had to "accidentally" slide the raise slider that far to the right. I think he probably just picked up a big hand.
I don't think he was using the slider - he was typing in his bets. He calimed after the hand that he forgot the ",". I believe him and wish I had called.

This.

I too never use the slider and I always type my bets. When I started playing online poker I used to miss the "," so often, leading me to raise to $2 instead of $0.2 at 5nl, to $4 instead of $0.4 at 10nl, etc.

Anyway to get back on track: I'd have called here. I don't agree with nawledge4pwr. I'd have called if it was the first time he did that. It was clearly a misclick, particularly if his standard raise was $1.25.
