For those of you who have secret screennames, I need to know how you want to handle the transfers to Vanguard. Two options:

1) I pass along your alias to him - ez game.
2) You transfer funds to me, I transfer them to him.

Either is fine with me. Maybe shoot me a PM/IM with your decision rather than bumping this thread.

Oh and list to date. Still waiting to hear from Mao so I guess he's a maybe and I think Don told me he was in on AIM but I may have been hallucinating.

Is it cool to play on both Full Tilt and Pokerstars for the challenge?
11-16-2009 , 12:43 PM

I'm in for NL50 ($250-500 worth of buy-ins)

FTP: BigPotFan
Stars: Sliimshady

Is there going to be a skype chatroom or will everything be in a new thread here once it gets started?

I'll be playing a mix of smaller field/buyins to start and then try some of the bigger ones on weekends, probably on both sites.

also in. 25nl, so 125 - 250 worth of buys.

anyone who wants my SN, just PM me. :-)

We'll see how it goes. It would be pretty easy to run every month if there was interest but being a cash forum I don't know if it's a good idea.

Who's your friend? This is better handled thru PMs. Go to the tab that says 'My 2+2' (top left of page) and click on it. Click on 'Edit Option'. Scroll down to the box that says 'enable PMs'. Hit save at bottom.

The problem isn't so much that I don't trust you. The problem is if I let you in I have to let everyone play. Then I'm opening the door for someone to scam us.

Yes, but I really doubt we're going to have any problems. Honestly you're my 'westcoast muscle' and will be reponsible for paying a visit to anyone within 4 hours of SD who scams us .

Simple... see a good hand in the hole, go all-in.

I think that was the general strategy no?
11-17-2009 , 07:54 AM
But do I play LAG, TAG or limp behind when the blinds are small in the beginning? Do I need x amount of outs for stacking of on the flop and turn?

Or do I just sit and wait for a good hand and then bet big?

If you have less than 20 BB left, yes.

That play I know, but my problem is early when the blinds are small.
I usually just wait for a good starting hand. Maybe I should try and play more hands and build a bigger stack that way instead of waiting and hoping to get a good starting hand before I have bled all my chips away and have to flip for it.

Edit: Do I need to say how good I am at flips?
11-17-2009 , 08:21 AM
I suck at tournaments, so I won't teach you strategy...

Maybe stox has some tournament strategy vids....

The M concept in short.

M Is your stack devided by BB+SB+Ante(If Any). (Without going into effective M)

M = 20+ is Green Zone. Play TAG/LAG. Basically your preferred style as you can afford it.

M = 10-20 is Yellow zone. Play a little more loose than in the green zone, you need to stay ahead of the rising blinds. (Although I still stick to TAG here)

M = 6-10 is Orange zone. Now you are starting to be very close to be blinded away. Be prepared to go all-in with more marginal hands in a flop where you are IP and its folded to you. Basically be very agressive.

M = 5 or less is Red Zone. The only move you have is AI. Pick your spot with basically very very marginal hands if you are going to be opening the action. Basically go all-in in MP or better with hands like A5, A6, KT, 22 etc.

M = 1 you are dead (Dead Zone). Go all-in with any sort of pot odds, any holding when its folded to you and its Q7o or better. Etc.

That's the M concept. Now you also need to understand that people stack off pre a lot lighter. A lot of the time AK is a good hand to flip with pre. Playing draws agressively is good. Good idea to play tight at a loose table and aggressive at a tight table. You can use points such as bubble, raise in payout structure as good opportunities to amass some chips as people are generally tight then.

Hmm... that's my 2 pence. Dont want to rewrite Harrington here

Now that was more like it!

Does HEM display your M?

Will try it out in some $5 tourney and see how it goes.

Thx!
