Crappy spot with 2nd nuts

That's pretty gross. I probably just puke, make a crying call and quickly minimize the window for when he scoops the pot.

You're getting 2.25 to 1 that he doesn't have the A. I call here.

I also raise flop, FWIW. Small donks like this are often draws, and there most definitely are some in his range on flop.

I would call here because I'm not good enough to fold taht one.

Folding here is pretty bad imo. I like the rest...though making a small flop raise might get us some value (though at 5/0 I'm not sure he has a ton of FDs)

RE,

What is he betting here?

The guy is pretty nitty and he donks out $8 into $10 pot with 4 spades including the Q on the board. My hand is a bluff catcher imo and I find it hard to believe that this guy is firing that bet as a bluff over 30% of the time.

why are we not popping the flop?

Our sample is over 40 hands so we really can't classify him as a nit.

If we assume he ONLY bets the As and air, if he has air 1/3 of the time, our call makes money.

I think he can definitely have air sometimes and I DEFINITELY think he can bet a worse spade here for value.

Also, I fail to see what hand (aside from AQx and AKx) he can possibly have that takes this line postflop. I'm not saying that they never show up here (I'm not advocating that we ship the river), but I certainly don't think they show up 70% of the time.

My thinking was I didn't want to play a big pot or wind up in a tough spot for my stack. His donk was small and 40 hands isn't much so I had no read and didn't really know how to interpret it. I would have been happy getting to showdown fairly cheap and taking some notes on how he played his hand.

No good?

I attack donk flops...maybe too much.

I still can't figure out his line...looks like a scared two pair or set, but the river bet is strange.

Edits:

I guess a made nut flush on the turn makes sense..if he was passive and bad.

It looks like he has the A of spades to me, i can't see what air he check calls the turn with that then wants to bet the river like this, and a smaller flush is not betting this large very often.

I also think that someone running 5/0 over 40 hands is at least 95% certain to be a nit, and a mega one at that.

+2

As played, his most likely hand is AQx, although I think his range for betting this river is wider. This is probably a fold, but I cry and call, then berate him for the bad beat when he shows me AQx.

Should of raised flop, bet turn imo.
