A couple of common spots with short stack fish in zoom A couple of common spots with short stack fish in zoom

I see these spots come up quite often where shortstacks will open jam or 3bet jam for anywhere between 20-70bb. And I struggle to construct a calling range vs these.

Heres a couple of spots what would be the bottom of your calling range here:

Hero open UTG/MP
Folds to SB
SB 3bets allin for 55bb
BB folds

Hero opens CO/BTN
SB 3bets allin for 70bb
BB folds

Also how much do you tighten up when its an open shove and theres players to act behind if you call?
From my experience villians can show up with all sorts of T9s AJo AQs to QQ+ AK and sometimes complete junk like K5o 78o sort of stuff. It's hard to know at zoom if they are tilted, just bored and spewing off, or just look down at AA and say "im all in"

I know its hard to say without knowing exact stack sizes/positions but in general whats your stratergy vs this. I'm talking about the 10nlz pool but I assume its the same for lower but just more frequent, and higher and much less frequent. Would appretiate any general advice to help me construct profitable ranges in these spots.

Villain bets 54,5 bbs to win 4,5. He needs fold equity 54,5/59=92% to make autoprofit from folds.
You can easily fold 90% of your open range and continue only with best cards.

E.g. on UTG you open 15% range and readless call about 1,5%, something like QQ+ AKs. With reads on villain it is OK to widen calling range and exploit his perceived pushing range.

Btw I do not see such action often.

Yeah I know min defense stratergy but dont you think we can widen this because of spaz factor?

And thats odd I see this a decent amount. (10z)

Dont understand what is spaz factor and how to use it to create right calling range. Why not follow unexploitable defense strategy against unknown.

Another way is to use your database to construct an "average" pushing range. Watch all showdowns after shortstack push. Try to count how many times short had opportunity to push and how many times he did this.
With big database maybe you will be able get insight into the strategy and precise calling range.

However I would stick at narrow calling, at least we avoid tilting when our AKo loses to his 22 etc...
