Thought it might be an interesting discussion
  • How Often? (If at all)
  • How much?
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)?
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements?
  • What do you do with the money you cash out?

EDIT: I guess this is kind of elitist, but I didn't mean it to be. I meant it mostly for winning regulars. And I've never cashed out!

EDIT #2: Did you/do you pay taxes (answer at will)

I cashed out once last year after I ran horribly one day (and I mean horribly) I was really pissed off, cashed out approx. 400 of my 500ish bankroll and quit poker for a month. since then I've been rebuilding my br and haven't cashed out.
so
- once
- 400
- rebuilding
- taking a shot at NL50 with 28 bi, 25 bi minimum for a given level.
- if I beat NL50 I might cash out more regulary and help finance a computer that can handle more than 5 tables.

I'm a recreational player and, for the most part don't need my poker winnings for life expenses. Basically just use them to fund the necessities of my poker habit. Thinking one of my necessities may be a new 22" monitor though. OK fish, keep the donations coming.

  • How much?I play poker to pay for my daughter's tuition (private school), I have withdrawn $2100 each year for that, plus I bought my wife a new pair of Nike Shox once for another $130. All told I have withdrawn $4350.
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)?I played winning poker at $100 and am trying to get back there, I would be there now if not for the most recent tuition payment. I have been content at $50NL for a while, but I would like to be a winner at $200NL someday.
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements?Used to be 20BI, but after a couple of massive downswings/bouts of horrible play I am in the "30BI for full time" camp. I will take shots at 22-25 BI, though. The way I normally do it is play 2-4 tables at the higher limit, and the balance of tables at my normal game.
  • What do you do with the money you cash out?OOPS already answered that.

  • How Often? (If at all)
    too often
  • How much?
    as much as I need
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)?
trying to build before I'm in urgent need of money again. couldn't build a roll for > NL25 so far due to these cashouts
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements?
as soon as I hit 15BI at my current level I use everything above that to include more and more tables of the higher limit into a mix. as soon as I reach 20BI for the limit below my current limit, I move down. I think I'll use 20BI and 25BI respectively for > NL25 (if that's ever going to happen)
  • What do you do with the money you cash out?
    pay bills

  • How Often? (If at all) Nope
  • How much? I don't plan on it but when I do I want 40-50 bi's at a level and cash out to that each month
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)? Building it baby!
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements? 20 at NL10 and NL25 30+ as I move up
  • What do you do with the money you cash out? I wanted to buy a computer with my winnings, but now I have to buy a new one now so I will most likely have my job for living expenses and when I start to withdraw I will buy cool things to show off to my poor friends.

Just whenever I feel like it--for a while I was cashing out monthly
  • How much?
I guess I have cashed out about $25,000
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)?
I am doing both right now--cashing out winnings and leaving rakeback in to build the roll
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements? 30 BIs to be a reg at a level--no max, i only take shots when I feel like I have improved my game enough to have a shot at beating the next higher level.
  • What do you do with the money you cash out?
    I have:
made 1.5 years of car payments
    bought my daughter a car
    bought my wife some jewelery
bought a set of bedroom furniture my wife wanted
outfitted a decent woodworking shop for myself (high end hand tools)
bought a zillion plants to landscape the yard.
these days I plan to use my winnings for daily living expenses, but can't, because Full Tilt feels under no obligation to send you your money.

30 buyins, shots at 25.
* What do you do with the money you cash out?

Playing for ~3 months now...
  • How Often? (If at all)
    Not yet...

  • How much?
    See above

  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)?
Building a bankroll, now playing 10NL and moving to 25NL soon I hope (bankroll is spreaded across sites, otherwise I'd likely be trying 25NL already although I've only played 12k hands on 5NL before moving up and now at 12k hands on 10NL.)

  • What are your personal bankroll requirements?
20-25 buyins so far for the new level (4tabling here)

  • What do you do with the money you cash out?
Nothing different from my 'other' money I think. Though might be a nice way to pay for extras...

-20 BI before I drop down, 30BI at the next level to take a shot.

-Windows, Vegas trips, live poker (which that BR gets raided by wife).

I don't cash out often, but when I do, it's mostly to finance playing in homegames. It lets me play with my bankroll instead of with real money. :-) Not that we play high stakes homegames (like 10NL), but it does help me a lot. Also, when I cash out $30 to play in the homegame and lose $10, I still go home with $20 more in my pocket than I had when I started and it just makes me feel good. It makes it easier to say "meh, variance".

I'm currently playing 25NL (with 37 buyins) and I'm looking to become a 50NL reg by the end of the summer. I'll probably try to stay there and use the money to amplify my allowance. I might move up to 100NL at some point, but only if 50NL is really good for me.

What is CMAR style?

Way way overrolled for micros from building BR via casino bonuswhoring 2yrs ago. I'm more interested in building my WR and then move up / switch games whenever I feel I've met my goals or want a change.
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements?
50BI for FR, 70BI for HU which I'm just starting and expect to pay some tuition for the next while
  • What do you do with the money you cash out? Usually goes into ING savings account or to play live. I'm saving up until my next cashout can get me a Dell 30" monitor.

If i'm playing a lot i cash out to my bankroll limit every Sunday night. It used to be 40BIs but recently i've been using 30BI's. If i'm playing less i just cash out if i need the money.
  • How much?
Usually just whatever i have made in the last week.
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? (Or CMAR style)?

I've moved around between 50 and 100 for the past year or so, depending on how much i needed the money for life stuff. Currently taking shots at 200NL so will probably move up my bankroll requirements accordingly. I'd like to have played a decent amount of midstakes by the end of the summer.

  • What are your personal bankroll requirements?

As i said currently 30BIs, move down when i hit 20BIs
    .
  • What do you do with the money you cash out?

Spend it on fun stuff. It's been my only source of income for the last year and a half so i've had to cash out a lot.

For example my one year masters degree cost me about $15K, add a lot of foreign holidays to that and it all starts to add up.

  • How Often? Back in the Neteller days I used to bonus-whore and cashout (and redeposit) quite frequently. Seems like a dream now (in these days of 1 month cashout = standard) to be able to move from poker site to cash and back to poker site in a matter of days. Now I cashout rather infrequently. Basically only when my account balance is way high for my levels. Recently I've decided to reduce my exposure at FTP because I don't feel they are that trustworthy anymore, and that has sparked some cashouts.
  • How much? I'd say my average cashout in the last year is between one and two K.
  • Are you building your bankroll, or content in the micros? Building.
  • What are your personal bankroll requirements? I like to have 100 BIs in my roll for my level. I like to have 50 BIs immediately available for the games I play, that is, actually in the account I'm playing with. I've been known to take shots at 40. I'll play a live game if I have 20-25 BIs.
  • What do you do with the money you cash out? Some gets stashed in a high interest savings account. Some gets donked off in live games. I've bought a few computers. Oh, and of course, there's this!
  • Did you/do you pay taxes? Always. It hurts, but I think it will be less trouble in the long run.

How often- About once a week (since we use checks now due to paytru/neteller going away)

How much- Varys week to week but $400 every week for expenses minimum. Usually ends up being between $800-$1400/week depending on the week

Are you building your bankroll- It grows on a month to month basis AT the micros woot. lol.

BR requirements- For me now it's a matter of feel. The roll is well enough to play the levels I do and when I'm ready again I'll move up. Standard for me was 30 buy ins for one level. Right now I have about 45 in my own personal roll (not including combined roll with chargers).

What do you do with money- Bills bills bills. Food, Rent, Electricity, Car, Insurance and once and awhile some extras. Usually it's just basic survival stuff though. Just now starting to do well enough to spend some money on the house and ourselves. This year we've purchased a 55 gal fish tank and 7 fishies. Also two new desks for the comps. 26" monitor for the hubby and a new bed (old one broke)
