Made a small deposit on ACR and have played close to 3k hands of 2nl. Wanted to get a better feel for the site before deciding if I wanted to deposit more and play there over Bovada.

First off, apologies to DDP. While I still think a lot of your bluffs aren't always necessary or optimal. I can totally see why you do it, and how you get away with it. My god, these players are nits! More on that later.

Some of the positives about ACR that I've noticed early on

1. More games/players. At least that's how it seems to me. Sometimes on Bovada you'll try to join a table and it takes you to an empty table. The option to actually table select is such a huge plus.

2. No shortstackers. Yeah, it means less fish, but I prefer playing against other full stacks.

3. Rakeback

4. HUDs work more consistently (and on fast tables). Something about the way Bovadas hand histories work, sometimes HUDs don't always work. I haven't had one issue with my HUD on ACR

5. Non-anonymous tables. This relates to the HUD as well, and how I can actually utilize it to it's full potential now that I'm able to actually have history on players. Example is yesterday I had a guy to my right who I had over 500 hands on. He was playing 20/17 with a F3B of 93. So I was able to widen my 3betting range against him and he never played back at me.

6. Auto top-up. Another amazing feature I didn't realize I was missing. It's so annoying on Bovada to have to manually top-up anytime you fell below your starting stack.

And now on to the only really "negative" thing I've noticed so far.

Not as many fish.

Now that's not to say the players on ACR are amazing, because they're not. The games are definitely crushable. But there are certain things that the majority of players do a little better. Starting with preflop. You don't see as many limpers or cold callers. However, their frequencies for 3-betting are either too high or too low. I'm sure that gets better at 10nl and up.

Postflop, they are nits. You aren't going to see too many players calling 3 streets with bottom pair like you would on Bovada. So the biggest adjustment I've had to make was bluffing a little more.

That's all I can really think of for now.

Has anyone else had a lot of experience on both sites?

I play on both of ACR and Bovada. I prefer cash games on ACR. Better competition for sure, but prefer it to not be anonymous. The only thing I use bovada for is their Triple Up SNG. It's incredibly easy to make money once you develop a fairly basic strategy. Top 3 split the pot.

Unless you thoroughly enjoy the challenge of grinding against other regs to win 3bb/100 and make some rake back play on ignition. I’ve played both and 50nl reg tables and probably 100nl reg tables on ignition are softer than 10nl on ACR. 99% of players will make more money on Ignition. The few super grinders who make a lot in take back and want to 12 table cash games will make more on ACR.

You are not going to make meaningful money at 2NL. The only thing you should focus is to find tough spots and study them, I would say ACR is a better places for studying. Once you reach 100NL or above when some meaningful money can be made, you can choose Ignition or ACR depending on your volume, playing style (GTO vs exploitative).

Yeah playing at 2nl is just temporary until I decide if I want to deposit more. If I did, it would only be enough to play 10nl and I can just grind it up from there.

I agree on the studying bit as I've already used my solver more in the 3k hands I played on ACR than the 100k+ I played on Bovada.
