So I am trying to work on the bluffing aspect of my game, and a hand came up earlier that I would like some input on.
I am on the button with K-10 suited, and the CO raises to .75 after no one limps-- I call and the blinds fold
Flop: The flop is A-8-3, two clubs (I don't have clubs)--The villain leads here for .75, which is less than half pot and to me indicates either weakness of something super strong (maybe AA)-- I decide to float here with the intention of betting the villain out on the turn
Turn: Turn is the Q
, and villain again bets .75, this time about a 1/4 pot bet-- This bet again indicates weakness, super strength, or maybe something like a weak ace, but I think that is somewhat discredited as he was the original raiser (A7 and below)-- I decide to raise his bet to 2.50, which looking back might not be the best sizing but I am basically representing a good ace here thinking he will fold a majority of his range. He doesn't, and elects to call
River: River is an offsuit 7, meaning the club flush didn't hit. Villain checks after about 5 seconds, and I decide to ship my remaining stack (About 3/4 pot at this point)-- My thought process in doing this is that I feel there is a decent shot villain had a FD here, as I can't think of many hands that make such small bets, call the raise on the turn, and check river. I figure he'll show up with a good A some of the time, but I feel a Q, a draw, and some weak aces will most likely fold to my bet so I go for the triple barrel.
Villain ended up calling with TT and winning. At the time I was very upset and thought he made an awful call, but looking back I can't decide if he was just a bad player or maybe he actually played it well. Input on everything is much appreciated.
